Hey Bolt,

Thanks for the reply. Let me guess, you got a KR with a super charger, right? Just kidding, I wish the KRs would offer an optional high performance screw or scab. Seems as if all the Lightnings get all the power, that's just not fair.

Talk soon,
DaveMan

Daveman,

you mentioned wanting a little help with this little trip....well, i don't know who you are talking to at Ford or where they are....chances are they are up here in Dearborn, MI. well, it just so happpens that i pass Ford's world headquarters in Dearborn everyday on my way to work. A little in your face action always works best for me in getting what i want and i can be pretty persuasive so let me know.

Hello KR Owners,

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Lets go!

It would be nice to get some more KR guys/gals to join in on the trip. C'mon, I know there must be a bunch more than just 5 truck owners out there that would like to see an 825,000-acre ranch in the deep south of Texas near Corpus Christi. How many times in your life do you think you’ll be able to go there with more than your own truck? I guess anyone could form a group later and do the same but then again, we’ll be the first to lead the way.

Also, It would be nice for all of the interested parties to either send me an email from this site or reconfirm your intentions to go to the Ranch on this thread again. We could arrange to all stay in a hotel in either Corpus or in Kingsville and probably get a group rate. In addition, if we all stay at the same hotel, we can spend a little more time getting to know one another before we go to the Ranch.

I'm starting to get a feeling that interest is fading but the clock is ticking for the November 26 roundup and we need to seal up the plans. Some additional interest would be nice too but I’ve run out of ideas and steam and need some help here. I’m not much of a marketing person and besides it’s not like we are offering free trips so everyone’s probably looking at time on the road and expenses.

I think that it will be a once in a lifetime event to go to the place where the idea of our trucks was conceived. It will be kind of like a salmon going back up stream to where they were born to spawn and start new life. The only difference from our trucks and salmon going back where they were born is we may want to conceive while at the Ranch too, we just don’t want to die afterwards, hehehe and we want to get back to our real homes safe and in one piece.

Those of you not familiar with emailing from this site, go to someone's profile by clicking on the bottom of any post with the person you want to send a message to and click on send this person an email.

Once we get a confirmed list of folks, we need to swap phone numbers on the personal email level and continue the trip planning over the phone as this forum is too inconvenient for that type of detailed communication.

Here is a list of questions that we need to answer in order to seal up the plans:
1. Reconfirm plans to meet at the King Ranch on November the 26th.
2. Decide where you would like to stay if still going and interested in staying at the same place as all other KR fans. Undecided BTW.
3. We all need to know how many folks will be riding so we can determine if we can qualify for the group barbeque at the Ranch. We need at least 20 or more to qualify for the Ranch to put on a BBQ just for us at about $11 plate.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Lets go!

Thanks,
DaveMan

Daveman,
you forgot about finding a place to clean up the trucks prior to our entrance at the ranch. After a long trip on the road i am sure our babies are going to be pretty dirty.
oops sorry i am showing my gender again!

Hey astuber,

Good to hear you can and want to make the trip. BTW, my computer died this weekend and I'm working on my new one now so I'm way behind on everything. I'm still setting up my email on my new box so I've been unable to retrieve any personal emails as of this reply. Damn computers, they are just like the opposite sex 'cause you can't live with them or without them. For sure I will keep you posted on any changes or details.

BTW, I lived in Austin from 1965-1967 and my parents left there in '67 to return to Charleston where they were both from. I've been in Charleston ever since. I was actually born in Baton Rouge LA and we moved from there to Austin in '65. I guess if things work out for you and this trip I can fill you in on the details later.

Hey Skagel,

How are you doing? I should have my email working tonight and I can catch up on a crap load of unanswered mails. BTW, you should only take about 50% of what I say serious and don't pay attention to the other 50%. I just like to make fun when it hits me, I know my jokes are kind of boring but then again maybe I am too. A trip to the King Ranch, that ought to spice up my life a little and maybe my jokes won't be so dry in December, maybe.

Also, since you mentioned the car wash bit, and haven't volunteered for any help for the trip, I will appoint you the car wash location designator extraordinaire. BTW, I think the car wash thing is a great idea, I guess it just takes both sexes to get anything done completely right, “A”. I know I know, you'll have to beg to differ, but that's okay 'cause I'm used to that one too!

Daveman,

ok i will find a good car...oops truck wash place where we can all wash our trucks. i prefer washing by hand myself. i don't trust other people touching my truck. we will have to do it close to the ranch and devote a good 2-3 hours to cleaning our babies prior to the drive in. well, at least i have to devote 2-3 hours to washing my baby.

oh had the bedliner sprayed in on thursday i will post the pics on my photo gallery today.

oh i also ran into another KR owner at the country club....hmmm ok that sounds snotty huh?......but anyways didn't get a chance to talk to him just saw him throw his golf clubs in the back seat and drive off. but since i seem to see quite a few of these trucks around here i am going to print up a flyer with this web site and forum on it and a detailed description of our intentions and put them on the windshield of these trucks.

and one more thing maybe i can find a good range around there so we can all blow off a few rounds. i feel it will release a lot of the stress from the long drive. i will call the NRA for info on that too.

Hey Skagel,

Now you are talking my kinda language, I'll be happy to blow off a couple rounds with you any time at the range, bullets that is, hehehe.

Hey, you know, that KR you saw at the country club might have been logical! Was that KR outfitted in Chestnut, 'cause logical's is that color? As far as the truck washing, I'm up for about two hours of hood ornament polishing but I would be wore out after that "ifin ya kno what I mean".

No sexual overtones intended, promise but remember how much to believe what I say!

actually the KR was chestnut. i would have said that, but i wasn't sure what to call that color since i didn't even look at the other colors of KR's when i ordered mine.

oh i added some pic's of Thomas's new arizona beige linex liner to my gallery.

Ok, KR's i went to AAA yesterday and got my trip plan and hotel guide for my trip down next month. my truck only has 635 miles on it so i will obviously be bringing some oil and filter for an oil change on the way down. i hope nobody gives me any crap about doing that at the hotel.

i also went to Sam's club to pick up some detailing stuff for the big truck wash. i hope everybody uses armorol because that is what i got. they have those cool portable things that pop out like butt wipes for cleaning and conditioning windows, leather, plastic and everything else. i figure that would be easier for everybody.

anyways i was thinking about getting some t-shirts made up wanted to know what everybody thought about that? i am not much of a desigener myself so if anyone has any thoughts on the design let me know. i figure i would have the KR emblem with the date or something to that affect. probably have to be long sleave t-shirts as it may be a little chilly. anyways just a thought.

Thumbs up KR Trip

Just traded in my '00 F150 Sport for a '01 KR last Saturday (10/19). It's Chestnut and has a whopping 500 miles on it. Naturally the first thing I did was to start surfin' for toys and links...that's how I wound up at this site!

Any of you deciding to make the trip have a place to stay in Houston if you like (my place). I can probably squeeze in 10 or so plus there are inexpensive motels nearby.

Houston is about 5 hours from the ranch so whether you need a place to stay or not, it's a pretty good stopping point on the trip if you're coming from the south or east.

Things to do: Visit "Crash" and the Trixster's Playground up in Dallas on the way in or out, visit the Houston Space Museum, check out our new sporting arenas (Astros and Texans), eat some of the best Mexican food and BBQ in the world, and for those of you that hunt, South East Texas has the best white tail hunting around!

Make the trip!
