The King Ranch is a package that is offered on top of the Lariat because it contains a number of things of the Lariat's. The only reason the HD isn't offered that way is because nothing inside of it is similar to the Lariat. The Lariat color scheme is the same as the King Ranch's, so they just added the KR package as an addition on top of the Lariat.

It is indeed a special edition, as we have proven already. We don't get plaques with our production number, but Ford puts the HD and KR side by side when talking about their new "special edition" trucks. It is true that the dealers only get a small number of each. As a matter of fact, my dealer (which is the biggest Ford dealer in the Southeast) got fewer King Ranch editions than Harley editions. They got 12 HD's last year and only 10 KR's.

So, regardless of what they list it as, it is a special edition.

im not a big fan of believing everything the media has to say.......but I do know that there are NO maximum production numbers of the King Ranch f150......Ford is building as many of them as are ordered.....That is what a ford dealership owner told me....im not saying that it isnt a "Special Edition"...I myselft plan on owning one someting in my life just because that is a part of my background and heritage......to find the production number of your vehicle the best bet is to call fords customer service and ask them or go to the Service department and have them pull it up on the computer...

I doubt this means a whole lot but I was at my dealer's place last night and one of the salesmen told me that they get as many King Ranch trucks as Ford let's them have. He didn't say anything about they can order any number they want but then again I didn't ask either.

I also asked about the Lightning and he told me they were for sure rare and that they sell them at STICKER PRICE and they get it.

I'm not a Lightning fan 'cause I like carrying people more than going 140 in a regular cab. However, I would like to see the super charger as an option on any F-150, that would make the playing field a little more level for fast trucks.

BTW, no one at the dealership, that I spoke with, knew anything about the '02 super charged HD Screw, go figure! Wasn't that news created by Ford that I saw on the '02 HD screw?

I'm starting to think that F-150 online members would make the best Ford truck salesmen around, what do you guys think?

It's actually the 2002 HD edition that has the supercharger. It isn't scheduled for release until early 2002. There are a number of threads with pictures on here.

Okay dufunnel,

You caught me red handed. I changed the reference from '03 to '02 and this is REV A! Thanks for the correction. Actually, while I was typing it, I was thinking it was '02 and not '03 but I said damn I'll have to dump this post in order to go back and verify it so I just guessed it wrong.

Sometimes when I want to verify something I will create another instance of internet explorer, call up this site and go searching for what I'm looking for, verify or copy the data and switch windows to the other instance and I'm good to go but I just was too lazy that time.

Oh well, sometimes my dumb hangs out too far and I get caught

Later dude,

DaveMan
