Disappointed with the 2011 KR leather - Now With Pics

I just saw my first two production 2011 KR Super Dutys and am sad to say that they have seriously degraded the leather. It would appear that they have gone away from the aniline Chaparral leather and to a more typical sealed automotive leather. It's still a nice color, but it is a big step down from my 2008.

agreed!

But I just ordered a 2011 f250 KR because these trucks keep getting better.

I have still yet to lay hands on this leather -- based upon what I'm hearing though, it sounds VERY disappointing.

I'll be in Dallas in September for a Ride & Drive (F-150) event -- they should have the 2011 there so, I'm hoping that I get a 'first look' at the 2011 F-150 KR.

I don't know if the F250 KR leather is different than the '09 F150 KR leather but it's fine for me. I like the soft subtle feel. Seems to withstand the environmental elements more than the previous leather ('09 to '07 F150 KR comparison).

And I do like the color change too.

We drove a 2008 KR prior to buying our 2010 (it was used, on the same lot), and to be perfectly honest, I like the Chaparral leather much better than the Castano leather. Both the look, and the feel are better suited to the truck, IMO.

We think that the 2011 changed on the interior materials though... specifically, on the SuperDuty.

And, you just KNOW the new "features" will trickle down to the f150s.

The leather in that F150 looks identical to mine.

I am, however, sorely disappointed at Fords direction with the small dial needles. Why would any sane person have the needle point down?

in person the 2011 KR leather looks exactly the same as the leather in the platinum edition just a different color. i.e. it is just Ford's new upper end leather in the KR color

Concurred... but, please note that the Platinum leather is not aniline... thus, I'm pretty much set that the KR isn't either -- which is REALLY ashame.
