My KR Resignation

I bought a 2001 KR in October of 2001. I recently parted with it and now am the proud owner of a 2009 Ram 1500. I have officially gone to the dark side.

Bronco - I bought my 02 KR just after you on 10/31/01... still have it (70K)...

Your note above is only one step above reading the obituaries.... (couldn't you have just said you are the owner of a 2009 Ram 1500.... not "proud" owner....??

Obviously your a newbie. They haven't had transmission problems siince the 1994-2001 models. Ppl see the strides chrsler has made with there cars/trucks and gotta get scared and start bashing them anyway they can. Dodge still sold a ton of those trucks even kno it was a known fact the transmission wasn't gonna last much past 120k. Actually it was a strong transmission. Basically the same one they used in the earlier years, when they switched it from mechanical to electronic is when they started having problems with the transmission. I'm not sure what the problem was exactly. Still a strong truck. I'm a friend to any american made car or truck...

^i wouldnt trade my ford for anything (unless it was for another ford like 30 years from now LOL) and honestly do not feel the need to keep up with chevy and dodge. i also agree that any of the american made trucks are top picks for me as well over anything imported from asia, and thank you for clearing up my missing knowledge ( an acquantance has his truck in the tranny shop reason to me is unkown 2004 ram 1500)...
to the op hope everything works out great!

Bronco,

I too have gone to the dark side. Just traded in my 2007 King Ranch on a 2010 Dodge Ram. Hope you and I enjoy the Dodges as much as we did our Fords.

One reason that I went with Dodge is that that there is now no Ford dealer in my area. the closest one is 100 miles away over 2 mountain passes. I also fell in love with the Dodge, and got a good deal on a 2009 with low miles. I loved my KR and found the new owner, and gave them all the accessories i had in my garage, including the original folio with all the service records, bed extender, 3(!) sets of floor mats, tow mirrors and so forth. (I kept the tire cables)
I haven't broke it to my BIL who retired from Ford (and who can get me A plan pricing)
I have to say that I'm having a tough time finding a forum as good as this one for the Dodge. This one is full of passionate, dedicated owners and I've appreciated the help I've received.
Trust me, I am as proud of this new truck as I am of my KR, in case there is any question!

My brother owns one of the newer Dodge Ram 1500's (mom must have dropped him on his head too many times ) with the Hemi. He too had a hard time finding a decent forum, until he stumbled across this one. He said the members there are all pretty cool and knowledgeable about their rides.

Good luck with your new truck.
