Water Leak

Hi all, Merry Christmas.

I am visiting family and had a hard rain last night, got in the KR this morning and noticed a nice stream of water going down the inside of the rear window over the seat. Merry Christmas to me me I ran out to the dealer today, but they couldn't get it in.

I did a search and noticed a lot of pre 04's had this issue but couldn't find a single post of late model trucks having this issue. What a bummer, 500 miles from home and rain in the forecast every day. We are heading over to St. Louis on Saturday and I'm going to plead with the local dealer to get it looked at that day, not sure how that will work though.

Anyone know of a temp fix to prevent more water streaming in?

Had a similar problem with my 04, the 3rd brake light was not sealed properly....I ended up removing the light and running a good bead of silicone in place of the gasket and never had another issue so might give that a try

Other people have used the "silicone" fix. I think it works as well as anything a dealer would do, and for a lot less money too!

It's likely coming in around the third brake light.

The trick that I found that worked was to remove the third brake light, put a bead of silicone on top of the foam seal that is on the third brake light assembly, allow the silicone to dry (don't make the bead too thick or the light will not seat correctly), once dried - screw the light back on and test.

Sorry for the bad luck on your trip!
