cd/mp3
i know this should be under the audio, but it is in a king ranch truck, in my 06 factory cd/mp3 when i make a audio cd, it works for about a week, then it keeps trying to read it and says bad disc, anyone else have this problem? I think the player is putting scratches on the cd. could my player be gettin bad? anything to fix this?
thanks.
thanks.
Possible, I suppose. I had a similar thing happen with an mp3 disk I had made. But, when I ejected it and reinserted it, it worked fine.
Sometimes I know the "homemade" CDs are not as reliable as the "store bought" versions on different players. Maybe it's just the nature of the player in our trucks.

Not to bad mouth fords cause I love them, but i've heard a lot of ford f150 owner have problems with the stereos. I've changed mine out to an alpine and my wifes 05 stereo went out while under warranty and the dealer had to replace the whole thing. I even know someone who has a sport trac and he has went through 4 factory replaced stereos.

Hey racin, if you did that, you wouldn't have to worry about the CD player. The only time I used mine was putting songs on the hard drive...since the only way you can is through the CD player. Lovin' my '09 KR...and with the iPod USB connector, I don't really need the hard drive, but was just playing around with it to see how to load songs to the hard drive. They say it will hold about 2400 songs...and I've put about 500 on mine so far. However, my iPod as 11,528 songs on it, which will last about 32 days. And, the 700 watt Sony sound system is awesome!!
Ever try cleaning?????
The laser can get dirty (dust, etc.) and it needs to be brushed off. They make a disk that has a brush on the underside that sweeps over the laser. I've had one for years and run it a couple of times a year.
