Tire Suggestions

Can anyone give me some suggestions for a nice replacement tire for an 02 with factory 17" rims. Want to go as big as possible without rubbing. Thanks

285/70-17 will fit like the stock fit was.
295/60-17 to 305/60-17 may fit but you'd have to see about any possible rubbing.

My next set will be 285/70's - just a hair bigger so mpg shoule be the same.

This is maybe a dumb suggestion, but couldn't you turn your wheels "lock to lock" and measure all the minimum clearances? Then, you'd know how much "slop" you have for bigger 17 inch rim tires.
