best tires for '05 kr

I live in the south & go offroad some but not often. Its time for new tires & this is the 1st truck I've ever owned. Love my KR & want to make sure it can perform but that I still get a decent ride. Also don't want to get ripped off on overpriced low performance tires. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In my opinion, your best bet will be to stay with the current size you are running. A few reasons... the truck was designed to run with what you got, no worries of tire rub while off-roading, and you won't have to recalibrate your speedometer to match your tires should you go up in size. Pretty much anyone will tell you in general that if it's part-time off-roading you will be doing, BF Goodrich A/T's will fit the bill just fine. They tend to have good tread life, ride good on streets, and will handle most of the off-road rigors a stock 4x4 can acomplish.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum. You'll find TONS of useful information here from all the KR owners that have been around here for awhile!

Hi, slreed. Welcome to the site!

You may get a few more responses within the aftermarket tire forum. Just FYI!

Again, welcome!

ive got an 05 king ranch with 18 inch stock wheels. i put a set of michelin ltx at2's on. great ride and handling. have not been off road but they do have an aggresive tread. blows thru puddles. good in snow. quiet tires and mileage actually got better than the oem garbage tires. hope this helps

Welcome. I'd go with the BFG AT KO's. There is nothing wrong with going a tad bigger.

Did you go with a P tire or LT tire? My door sticker calls for LT, but every tire place say P. The LT michelin ltx at2's are a ten ply tire and most I have heard said the ride was to rough.

Nope, not a bit. I couldn't get the molded flaps to fit on the front though. It is the perfect set-up IMO..
