Thumbs down KR Badges becoming target

Hey all, especially down in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area! My wife's cousin called me yesterday and informed me that all three of his King Ranch badges, (both front quarters and tailgate), were stolen off his truck while it was sitting in the church parking lot...while there were two (2), uniformed police officers patrolling the lot!!! I won't get into who he says took them, but, they are becoming a HOT item. Up here in KS, we haven't had that much of a problem yet, at least that I know of.

Why?

New '09 KR badges or the old style?

It doesn't matter, I guess they are getting stolen to put on their own truck or vehicle. His is an '06 KR in Stone, but they just want the badges. They took a screwdriver, or something, and just popped them off. Just left a couple small scratches in the paint around each badge.

That blows. Hopefully your wife's cousin will find the lameass SOB's and his badges.

If not, tell him to check out www.billetbadges.com for some real nice replacement badges.

Well thanks, but you know as well as I do that there are much more "Important"(?) issues out there than finding the culprits. I doubt if it is a high priority issue...just a property crime. Now if one of the cops owned a KR, it might be a different story???

He's just going to get replacements and put them on, as it would probably be about the same as his decuctible? Too bad they are just "stuck" on there with double stick tape. I told him to screw them on or use some small rivets that weren't too noticeable, so it would deter them from trying again!

I'll just say that you might see them on a truck with a big wing on the back, or, possibly a low-rider???

I think that this problem is probably an isolated one. I see a lot of KR's in my city, and they all have their badges. I park mine at the airport quite often, and no one has tried to steal them.

What I do see, is ALOT of guys trying to make their F150 look like a Mark LT... I would think LT badges would get stolen more... But what the heck do I know

the 4.56s are great, they're actually higher than normal for 35" tires, so no I don't wish I would have gone with 4.88s.. I think 4.33s are normal or stock for 35" tires, but noone makes them, or maybe it was 4.10s, but they only make the rear.. either way, I don't plan on ever going with bigger tires, so I'm pretty set with the 4.56s.. heck even with 37" tires, you'd still be fine with 4.56s, it just depends on how you use your truck..

here's an example.. say your ideal ratio was 4.33 but the only thing available is 4.10 or 4.56, you'd have to decide on how you use your truck.. with 4.10s you might get better gas mileage and less stress under normal driving conditions, but with 4.56 you would get better acceleration and better towing.. honestly I'm not the gears guru, but 4.56 is more than adequate for 35" tires, only go with 4.88s if you have 37"+

lol.. too bad there arent electromagnetic pulse alarm systems out there.. that would be awesome.. someone walks by and trys to key, or in your case, pry off your emblems with a screwdriver, and bam! fried turkey!
