Well, this is what Bryan from Obenaufs says in his email reply:

Hi Ryan, I would say our Obenaufs Oil would be a better choice to
protect the leather, the waterproofer is for canvas and clothing,
thanks, Bryan

Hello. I wanted to check to see if your waterproofer would be suitable to use on the King Ranch aniline leather that is in my 2007 F150. I would like to give it some kind of protection. Please let me know. Thank you.

Anyone have any other products to recommend? If we can find a suitable product, I will give it a try. Even if the product will darken the leather a bit.

I was thinking something like this like I use on my leather coat. It doesn't darken it at all after it dries, but water has to sit on it a long time before it penetrates, if at all.

I like to leave my seats as they are, that is, un-sealed. My feeling is that these waterproofing products seal up the pores of the leather and will prevent the leather from being able to properly absorb a good conditioner. A good conditioner will be drawn into the pores of the leather. This will not happen if the pores have been sealed up. The leather will then dry up and get hard and brittle.

I have been using Obenauf's LP on the seats since I got the truck. I have not had anything spilled on them that left a stain. I can't say that the seats are 'waterproof' but I can say that anything that has been spilled on them has cleaned right off with no problem. That includes coffee, soda, grease from french fries and hamburgers, etc.

I really like the way the leather feels after it has been treated with the LP. I treat my seats, steering wheel, console, etc. about twice a year, spring and fall.

I think your waterproofing argument was excellent

As to conditioning, I have used the KR conditioner four times. My truck is ALMOST a year old and look showroom new

You couldn't ask for anything more than that.

My truck is now a little over three years and 40,000 miles old. IMHO the seats look better now than they did the day I brought her home.

Is this the Heavy Duty LP? Where are you buying it? Does it darlen the leather? I've been using the King Ranch conditioner, and am nowhere impressed. It sure smells good, but the door side bolster of my driver's seat seems to dry out and turn light in one or two days. I have one section of the passenger seat that continues to wrinkle and tyhe high spots of the wrinkles get dry from pants rubbing on them. I have reconditioned the seats a few times (at least the needy portions) and all it does is turn the seats kind of santiny smooth again, with no real feeling of "conditioning" the leather. On some sections, depending on the cut of leather, the KR Conditioner will even leave a white residue that will not come out with buffing, a damp cloth, reapplying conditioner to try to revitalize it, or anyting else. In a day or two, certain portins of the seat (again, depending on the cut of the leather) are light and look dry all over again. I'm not thinking my interior will look worth a snot in a year if I only use the KR Conditioner. I need something better... now, before it's too late.

i'm having a couple of the same issues, smoke. the outside section of the seats (both driver & passenger) appear lighter than the rest of the seat just a few days after conditioning. i was originally thinking that it might be because the door windows were not tinted, but have since proved that did not make a difference.

Here is where you can buy the Obenauf's LP.

http://www.obenaufs.com/

Here is a link to their LP product.

I have also used the Leather Oil and the White Jaguar Leather cleaner. All of these products have surpassed my expectations.
