Okay stupid question for the day. How much leather treatment do you put on? It seems no matter how much I apply the leather readily absorbs it. Now I know it is suppose to be absorbed but how much is enough?
Second question. I have a little spot on the passenger's seat where i thought someone had spilled a bit of coke. But it ate through the top layer of leather. Now this is a small spot near the edge of the seat. My question how to repair. I know there are some leather repair kits for aniline leather online. All I need is something just to repair this one little spot. Any ideas?

pics usually help get you some responses. snap some over view shots and a couple of close ups of the problem areas. Then post them for us to help you. tell us what product you are using. i used to use a ton of the kr conditioner- now i use leather cpr and it doesn't take nearly as much (remember everyone has different results from the various products).
and as always. search the forum because this has been covered for years

First of all I am using a ton of the KR Conditioner. It seems as if there is no end to the absorption of the stuff. As far as the smell, etc I have no problem with that. But at what point do you know that you have put enough on for a good treatment.
As far as searching for the answer for the repair of the spot on the seat. I have searched using repair leather, repair hole, repair this and that and I did not get a product that can be used. I do not have a cell phone to take a picture so I cannot get a pic. All I am looking for what product to buy to make a repair on the top layer of leather.

As far as the "repair" question - it's mostly making sure that you clean the area as best as possible. There used to be a ton of data available for cleaning the steering wheel (DOVE baby shampoo and the like) that would apply to all of the stains that the leather may pick up over time.
My default method is warm water (as warm as my hands can stand) and a very clean microfiber towel with baby shampoo. I first soak the microfiber and wring it as dry as I can then dampen the dirty area and pick up as much surface grime as I can. The with a few drops of the baby shampoo I work up a lather on the microfiber then apply it in circular motions to the stained area(s) - working it into the leather and turning the microfiber as it becomes discolored. With a lot of elbow grease (the leather can stand it) I keep cleaning until the microfiber shows little or no sign of discoloration. I repeat the first step, removing as much of the trace of shampoo as possible and then let it dry as completely as possible. Once completely dry I survey the results and if they are to my liking, I then apply the leather cleaner / condition to the area (currently still using Leather CRP as it has done the best overall for me for the past 3+ years).

The real problem is that Castano leather readily absorbs anythng that is liquid. Is the damage you mentioned a stain or is it actual "removal" of the surface finish/coloring? If it's a stain, probably all you can hope for is fading over time.
You may be able to "blend" in some kind of finish like my favorite, Tandy's Satin Shene, if the damage is to the surface. You'd still see it, but it might not be so noticeable. I'd be careful applying anything though, and try to keep it within the boundaries of the damaged spot.

I have used White Jaguar Leather Cleaner with great success on stain removal on my KR seats. Available from Obenauf's Leather Care.
For conditioner, I use Obenauf Heavy Duty LP, applied by hand. IMHO this is the absolute best product to use on KR leather seats, period.

I don't have any stains on mine, or I'd try it. Anyone else out there interested in being an guinea pig? Do we buy stock in the company and then put in a "massive" buy?
Seriously, I'll file this information in my geezerly memory banks. Hopefully, I'll remember it tomorrow. :o

To be perfectly honest, I can't say that I have used White Jaguar on anything that I would call a 'stain'.
After owning my truck for 2 years with no real cleaning done to the seats(other than vacuuming), I tried it, and it did a good job of removing day to day dirt and grime. It brought the leather back to original appearance.
I also used it on the steering wheel, which was pretty grimy in the normal areas. It did a tremendous job on the steering wheel leather, but, it did seem to dry out the leather some. I just applied a generous coat of LP which I let sit for a full day, then I applied a second, light coat of LP and it brought back the look and feel I expected. The steering wheel cover now has a nice even color all the way around, albeit a bit darker than it used to be.

I just picked up an 03 KR and the seats appeared to be very faded. After reading tons of info I picked up a can of leather CPR from walmart and it worked better than I thought. It removed some minor staining, which is all was on the seats at the time but brought them back to their original color and seemed to soften it up some too. It's only 8 bux and some change per jar.
I will have had my 07 KR for a year this August. Yesterday was the fifth time that I have conditioned my seats. Excessive? Maybe, but they still look new. I eat and drink everything in my truck. I even have a toddler... I put as much KR Conditioner on as I can. I literally slather it on with my hand, and work it in. My only suggestion, is to buff the seats about ten minutes later with a rag or wash cloth. Its leather, i'll be damned if I use a microfiber. The washcloth that I stole from Hilton keeps the white haze away that some experience.
After I condition my leather, I love to go for a thirty minute spin. The smell is aphrodisiacical

What product did you use from Wal-Mart?
