No Badges On 08f250

my father in law just got his 2008 f250 king ranch and it don't have any badges on the tailgate. the only thing that says king ranch is on the side of the front fender that don't even show that well .i like my badges on my truck , i think it one of the things that make our trucks different from the others. his truck looks alot like every other F250.

Sounds like he has three choices:

1) Live with it..

2) Buy a badge for an 07"

3) Return the truck, and buy an 07"

Glad that I could offer my services of wit and sarcasm...

Let me know how it works out.

Shine, I really DID "laugh out loud" at your reply!

But, how in the heck does this poor guy let those following him know he is driving a KING RANCH (cowboys, testosterone, leather, etc) truck?

Maybe this was a case of "Quality is Job 1" sort of failing. Was the truck assembled on a Monday?

To be safe, I opt for choice nbr 3.

Another 'cost savings' spot where an item got deleted...

Working within various manufacturing settings -- ranging from major home appliances to auto parts -- I'm not sure that I, as a consumer, want to buy anything right now.

EVERYONE is cutting costs and the subtle things that once set something apart from the rest are being cut over and over again. Case in point - the tailgate badge.

its obvious to one of "us" that its a KR. Painted skull caps, tan bumpers, and tan bed rails. the people that look at that truck and cant tell it's a Kr probably don't care anyhow.

p.s.- "us"=people into trucks

Has anyone thought to look at a similar spec and year model truck to see if that has a badge ?

I would guess its just a mistake and has been left off.....I can't believe Ford would not want free tailgate advertising of its products!!

That was my thinking too, just got left off and got missed before it rolled off of the assmbly line. So, how many of our members have one of these 2008 F-250 KR's and does your truck have the King Ranch emblem on the tailgate? Sounds like it may be time for a poll.

The Super Duty doesn't have the badge on the tailgate. I've looked at about four of them at this point in time... and have seen 5,000 more on trucks rolling out of here.

The only thing on the tailgate is 'SUPER DUTY' stamped into the metal on the lower portion of the tailgate.

Fair assessment. My wife can't figure it out for the life of her how I can ID a KR from a distance of about a mile on the Interstate... Much in the same way that she can't figure out how I can assess a gas station's groundwater monitoring wells and determine the potentiometric flow direction (pending the wells were correctly installed to assess a plume).

Goofy? Yes. *shrugs*

Careful, Brad...You're verging on the 'nerdy' there !!!!

PS If I had one of those trucks without a badge I'd make sure I bought one off E bay and just hacksawed off the bit that might denote a different model.
(You might almost think I'd done that....Like on my front door, Garage door, garage wall, bicycle, wife......She didn't like it on her forehead)
