How do you know that the new rebates might not be better than the current rebates? They should be out in the next week or so.

I don't. But I have an extra $500 from the Autoshow that will expire on the 2nd, and you really can't beat 0% for 60 anymore unless it changes to 0% and a rebate. But looking at how low dealer stock is around here and with the rumors that GM is cutting production of silverados for the summer, I'm going to take my chances on getting locked in now.

Who knows, maybe they're holding delivery on all the trucks at the plant until after the new rebates come out? I'm banking on them being lower, but I know I'm taking a gamble by waiting. I'm hoping for the best! I was just at the audio install shop and I think they talked me into NOT doing the factory nav system. Instead I'll probably go with the new panasonic avic-d3. I can get it installed WITH rear back-up camera and remote start for less than the factory nav unit alone would have cost. Only downside is that I can't roll it all into the dealer financing. I'm still trying to decide what exhaust system (Borla, Flowmaster, or Corsa) to have them put on. I also am now a proud member of the American Quarterhorse Assoc (AQHA) which 58 days from now will give me another $500 factory rebate on the truck. If I order it next week that should be right about exactly when it gets delivered. Dealer is going to do $1 over invoice. Not bad. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new truck when it gets here.

Your definitly going to have one hell of a truck together once you get everything done and in place.
As for the exhaust, I'm probably just going to do a Magnaflow muffler swap like I did on my '05. Sounded good, cheap, and believe it did help with performance a bit.
$1 over invoice is pretty good. I went the x-plan route. Got hooked up by someone on the forums. Ended up being about $75 under invoice. With the x-plan you can't be charged extra fees that you might find about when you go to sign the paperwork. Find out, might be worth it to get a x-plan pin. Heck, I'd do it for the $75.

I have mine in the driveway already. I bought it off the lot though. Of course I had to replace mine because the 2006 was stolen. They aren't coming off the price of the Super Duties though, they are pretty proud of the new design.

Pics are in the album.

Yeah, tell that to all the idiots who order trucks for stock at dealerships. I was sooo close to buying a KR last time, but the idiots around here thought that limited slip was not an option worth having, so I found my loaded Lariat instead. If you are spending $45,000 for a truck, what's another $300? I could just see me pulling my ATV trailer into the sand up north, or pulling a boat out of the landing without L/S. I don't give a hoot about flipping the 4WD switch. Now, $2,295 for navigation is another story, but hey, some of us still use a truck as a truck!

Rebates stayed the same, so it doesn't matter anyways.

Good news for you.
I had to get mine in before the 2nd due to extra rebates I had. Things are working out for everyone.

Have you placed your order yet?

No, haven't placed the order yet. This has become sort of a sore point over the last day or two. During one of my more "lucid" moments I started to convince myself that ordering a $45K truck will do little to reduce our mountain of student loans from medical school and that maybe I should wait another year when I won't have to finance as much. Don't worry--I still haven't given up on the idea completely, so we'll see how things pan out. In the meantime I may just have to be satisfied with living my life vicariously through all of you other KR owners. Enjoy your new truck--hopefully I'll be joining you soon.

Smile Its About Time....

Oh ya!!

So, I go to the dealer today to sign the paperwork to lock in my 4/2/07 incentives and as I'm pulling off the interstate I see a transport truck full of F-150's.. What an awesome sight that is!! Well I look closer and I see a Forest green / pueblo gold truck. I start to get excited, but as I get closer I notice its not a crew cab, but a Lariat Supercab. I stop for awhile admiring the color combo then get sad that my truck wasn't on the transport. I failed to notice that there was one spot empty on the truck, like they had already taken one off.

I drive away sad, thinking how cool it would have been to catch my KR still on the Semi. Well I drive around the dealer to pull into a parking stall by the front entrance to the dealer, AND THERE SHE WAS.

I had a moment that I almost ran my Bronco right in the side of the new truck.. The truck might as well been on a 50' high pedestal, its all I could see.. Once I finally got to check it out it brought back memories of me at 5 yrs old opening the original Optimus Prime at Christams.. I know there are a few of you that can relate to that. (My mother just brought a box of my childhood stuff over, which is why that was on the mind).

Anyways, the truck looked great. The Forest Green over pueblo gold looks awesome. I did find scuffs on the pappenger side mirror though. Both on the painted portion as well as the black. The painted half should buff out. They have not done there inspection yet, so I pick it up tomorrow at 10. Then I go back later to get the tires / alignment done.
