Seat Heaters - Upgrade the controls?

I just read of an owner saying that his seat heater stopped heating; the button lights up and shuts off but no heat. What caught my attention is when he said shuts off. I have a 2001 KR (love the original) and was wondering if it is an easy upgrade to have the seat heaters shut off after it reaches temp. (like on later models). Is it built into the switch or elsewhere (the electronics controlling the time the heater stays on).

What's the chances of doing / getting this upgrade implemented on my '01?

Thanks for the replies.

Mine has a thermostat in the seat. Fries your butt then cools down, fries your butt then cools down, but it sure feels good when it's in the teens. The only time the little light goes out is when I punch the button to turn the seat heater off.

Seat Heaters

My seat heaters starting doing the same thing - push the button, light on, light immediately off, no heat. I checked the fuse, looked okay, but replaced anyway. Problem went away!
