2002 KR Carpet Pads with bound edges?

Hi all,

I have a 2002 F-150 SuperCrew King Ranch Edition truck, and am trying to find some replacement carpet pads for the front.

I have been looking around on eBay and doing general internet searches trying to find a set that has the thread-bound edges (not sure what exactly to call them besides that) but so far have only been able to find the type that have "raised" edges that just have the fuzzy carpet stuff on them like the rest of the pads. Since I really only need the driver side, I am looking for a front set to match the back set that is pristine.

So I am trying to find a set of the front mats that have the "bound" edges.

Is this a lost cause? Anyone have a source for the older type that still have the bound edges? I assume Ford (in what is most likely a cost-cutting measure) has switched over to the non-bound edges these days, but I sure would like to have a matching set of the original style.

Any suggestions for sources?

Thanks very much!
Paul

I'm a little confused... are you talking about floor mats?

If the dealer doesn't have them you maybe out of luck. Why not get some weathertech liners? And what is so important about the stiching?

Yeah, what HE said! *L* Yes, I am talking about the floor mats (sorry, just realized I had this "there has been a response to your thread" email in my inbox...)

I actually already have some of the OEM Rubber mats coming, but just wanted to have a good set of the bound-edge mats because of the originals that came in my truck, all are in good shape except the driver's mat. So I really only need that one, but since they come in pairs...*L* I just want to have a good set in case I want to put them back in at some point.

I'll try the dealers around the area today. Thanks for the responses!

I bought New Carpet Floor Mat set, King Ranch Originals from Ford on Ebay for $35 (including shipping) about 6 months ago. I have a 2002 King Ranch 4x4 SuperCrew. The floor mat set matched color (tan) of the original floor mats.

Do a search for King Ranch on ebay, you should find there.

Thanks for the response '02...

I do have one of those constantly-searching thingies set up on ebay for King Ranch...so sooner or later I'll find them, though I still need to call the local dealership and ask about them too...probably will actually go in, so I can show them what I am talking about.

The ones that tend to show up on ebay seem to be straight along the bottom edge. Because of my console (which I would think all '02 KR's would have in common, unless there is a large contingent of folks with a front bench seat option) the rear edge needs to have a "cutout" in it on the side near the console. Most of the ones on ebay I see don't tend to have that.

But anyway, you must have found a set...so I'll keep my eyes open too, and try to get my butt over to the dealership to ask there too.
