Those who have been around this past year are well aware of my KR leather woes following a bad decision to condition in "cool" weather. The below input is related to that mess...

I called a local Ford dealership and they reported having the KRSS on the shelf for "about $13." So I made the drive. It was $17. But no sense going on the cheap when you've laid out KR $$ for the truck in the first place.

It is very "thin," as indicated in the above pics. I also think it smells really bad (my truck smelled much better before the conditioning than afterwards. But it worked into the leather well (did it by hand) and it did have a wonderful effect on the overall appearance and feel of the leather. So I guess all things considered, I'm pretty happy with it. But I will be keeping my eye out for this other alternative (not sure that we have Car Quest here in Colorado Springs, but I think we might).

I guess I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the value of cleaning your leather prior to conditioning it. Even though mine looked perfectly "clean," I knew that it wasn't following a week up in the high country beating up and down red dirt roads. Sure enough, my buckets of soap water and rinse water looked just like those old dusty roads by the end of it all. Even though my horrors began with a Connolley product, I'm still very much in support of their cleaner for KR leather (just as indicated, 1 part cleaner/12 parts water). And I would also remind everyone that this leather is tough; you can clean it aggressively without causing harm. I personally use a bucket of soap water and a "fishnet" spunge, and a bucket of clean water and any old cotton rinse rag (that's spun tightly enough not to leave lint behind). I also buff with a microfiber following conditioning, just to pick up any residue that might bond with dirt down the road...

See! There are at least two of us now that find the smell of the KRSS to be foul..

Very foul, indeed. I assume the leather itself eventually overtakes the conditioner? I went out to the garage this morning with high hopes but was turned away holding my nose...

BTW, climbed into my truck today for the first time in at least a couple of days and...

It still smells like hell. I do truly hope to find a better conditioner. I may even go back to Connolley (I have a bunch of it, afterall). I'll just make darned sure to use it in the right temp and I'll be sure it is fully worked into the leather before calling it a night this time.

Sometimes I really can be a derned fool. But I used Connolley very successfully the first time (in the heat of summer)...

I wanted to post this being a Fireman and newly KR owner, conserning the duragloss product line. I stumbled across the duragloss car soap some years ago for washing our trucks and I have to say it is the best soap I have ever used. I clearly leaves a shine and "smells good too" I've been researching these post to I have 8k on my truck and think its about time to take care or my seats. Lots of good info here though. I'm leaning towards using the duragloss.
