Baby Seat

Anybody else use a car seat in their King Rach? Did you use anything to protect the leather or did you just install the seat directly there. Before I used a seat protector, but the car just had regular leather. I was thinking of buying a tan towel to go between the two.

I plan to regularly take the seat out to condition the leather.

I am I the only one crazy enough to have 2 kids, a doberman, and a KR?

I haven't been able to be around my lil' one long enough to see what happens with the car seat in long term yet. I have used a car seat for her off and on though, and I've always used a southwestern patterned blanket to protect the leather just in case....

I use this... works well - thick enough to prevent any marks into the leather...

Children and old folks (both prone to slobbering) are banished strictly to the bed of my truck!

OK, serisously, I have had some heavy stuff on my leather for a couple of days and it does leave an impression for a short while. Might leave a permanent impression/mark, though, if you were to fail to move it around every now and again. I'd go with something to distribute the weight. Also, I've noticed that anything in contact with the leather that might vibrate can chew things up (nothing that conditioner didn't solve, but again, that was only for a day or two).

And yes, you're crazy...

I used one of those seat liner things above and then put a sheeps skin seat cover on top of that.

Oh and no you aren't crazy. I have a 4 year old and 8 year old boys and a doberman. Oh and a little hairless dog...if you can call him a dog.

I will say this. Having the KR and teaching your child to respect the leather will teach your child to respect other peoples vehicles and that is nice.

I tried one of those seat covers, I think I am going to end up using it and trim it a little. The KR is an expedition, so the seat protector can't be too wide, so that I can still fold the seat next to it to access the 3rd row seats.

I have decided to get one of those pet barriers and only put the dog in the back with the seats down, to keep him off of the leather.
