2 KR emblems...make me a hitch cover and I will give you one
Hey guys,
I bought 2 hitch covers off of ebay to make my friend a hitch cover for his birthday...however, i don't know how to do it...so I have a proposal
I will ship both emblems to you...you buy the hitch and make me a cover & ship it back and you can have the 2nd emblem....sounds fair enough given the price i paid for the emblems and to ship it to you.
let me who will take me up on the offer.
thanx!

Do you have any pics of what you have now that you can send me? My dad and I are in the business of doing custom metal works and this may be a challenge we're up to. Let me know, kotaman77571@yahoo.com
Several of us have made these in the past... in all honesty, it's cake.
Let me talk you through how I did mine in just a few easy steps...
1. I bought a KR Fender badge -- the tailgate badge will work equally as well.
2. I used a mini-hacksaw to saw through the plastic to remove the F-150 portion. I left enough of an edge that you could still 'work' with the plastic along the edge of the KR portion.
3. Using a dremel tool, I removed the bulk of the plastic on the KR portion around where I cut it off and got it back in 'shape'.
4. I finished 'rounding' the KR portion using 1000 grit sandpaper and then followed with 2000 grit sandpaper to achieve a very smooth surface.
5. I bought a couple of small rattle cans of 'silver' paint in an attempt to match up the color of the KR's silver/grey portions with the paint as the plastic has a 'stressed white' look to it after sanding and cutting. Fortunately, I landed on a can that was almost a dead-on match.
6. Using a piece of wax paper, I sprayed some of the paint on the paper and used a q-tip to paint the rough edge.
7. Allow to dry overnight.
8. Using 3M double sided tape, I adhered the emblem to one of the 'el-cheapo' Wal-Mart plastic hitch plugs.
Presto! Your own KR hitch cover.

I was very happy with the project, but my good friends and neighbors just returned from Texas and the KR, they presented me the steel cover from the Saddle Shop. Now I have a change for summer and winter. The steel would be gone in Michigan after a winter of salt.
There is also one on Ebay that is machined out of aluminum. Looks good!
