All the talk on seats --

Here's the comment got from my dealer when I asked about care!!

They do not clean the seats with anything. They have had
several customers come back with messed up seats wanting
warranty replacements. They do not sell or recommend
anything for the King Ranch. Its let the owner do the
research. Boy are they covering their behind

I actually had the same comment just the other day from the guy who sold me my KR. I was talking to him about my conditioner problems. He said never use anything but a lightly damp cloth.

Interesting that they'd say this... especially considering Ford actually mailed a bottle of KR Saddle Shop Conditioner, along with a planner or portfolio, for those of us who had purchased an 01'.

Also, doesn't the KR come with a little 'hand bill' type of card in the glovebox or on an elastic string that specifically states KR conditioner or something?

RP I havent gotten a thing from Ford about the KR. It may be that
some dealers are having trouble and dont want any issues. No link
to them what a purchaser does with the seat keeps them clear. Like
removing a tag that has given them trouble in the past ?????

BTW, on the subject of KR seats, my wife sent this to me the other day...

and he begins to think irrationally.

Ever wonder why?

I'm nearly certain that my 05' came with 'something'... but, for the life of me, I can't remember. Who knows?

In the 06 Owners manual it has a section devoted just to King Ranch seat care with a link to the King Ranch website where you can purchase their conditioner.

They have the same thing in the '02 owners manual.

My `05 came with it too

Mine had a card hanging from the headrest of the driver's seat - and the "funny" thing is that when I removed that card, you could see a pale rectangle where it had been hanging. The whole seat had darkened slightly from being in the sun on the dealer's lot for however long it had sat there - but the area of leather that had been hidden by the big rectangular tag was lighter in color.

After hitting it with the KR leather conditioner and letting it sit out in the sun, the rectangle is gone now.

The owner's manual also says to use the KR leather conditioner and includes the web address for the KR Saddle Shop.

I am figuring I will use what I use on my saddles and tack. They have been through rain, snow (used to live in Colorado), mud, horse sweat, etc. and they still look good.
