A King Ranch Harley-Davidson??

Okay, this is going to sound really strange, but I swear this is what I saw.

The other day I was driving around and I stopped at a red light. And then a black F-150 pulled up right alongside me. It was about a 2000 or 2001 or so, and it had an orange pinstripe, so I assumed that it was a Harley-Davidson edition. Then, I looked up at the side of the truck and there was the unmistakable King Ranch logo. So I thought, oh okay, maybe they just put that orange pinstripe there on their King Ranch truck. Okay, here's the weird part. The light turned green and he moved forward a little before me. As he moved ahead I saw large, bright orange letters that said HARLEY-DAVIDSON on the lower side of the truck (at the bottom of the passenger door).

Does anyone have an explanation for this? I have NEVER seen a King Ranch and Harley-Davidson F-150. And I am 100% certain that it had a metal King Ranch plate where it says F-150. I was right up next to it to where I could have rolled the window down and touched it. Anyone know if that is possible to have a truck like that?

It's pretty common for folks to add all kinds of badges to their trucks. It wouldn't be a bit surprising for this guy to have added King Ranch badges to his Harley Davidson truck. That would make it seem like he has something no one else has. I've read posts from time to time from folks who complain about this very thing. For me, its no big thing. You can add all the badges you want to your F-150 but if you don't have the leather, you don't have a King Ranch!

The other thing I noticed was the year. If it was a 2000 or 01, I don't think it could have been a King Ranch. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they offered a black King Ranch until 2003. Right or Wrong?

It would work, it'd just be ugly. Other than the seat covering, the HD editions have basically the exact same interior as the King Ranch editions(black leather as opposed to castano). And they're trimmed in chrome all over the interior. And I have to believe that against the grey carpeting the castano seats would stick out like a sore thumb. Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, the "Harley Davidson" on the HD edition trucks is up along the pinstripe towards the top of the cab, not written on the bottom. That guy probably has a bone stock SCrew with badges and decals.

Are you 1000% absolutely SURE that it wasn't the badge pictured below?

I submit to the court that this witness is grossly mistaken and that my client be acquitted of all charges.... if the glove doesn't fit....

There's nothing wrong with doing that. I have Navigator, Lightning, Blackwood, and Harley parts on my King Ranch, but in no way am I trying to make it into one of those. I just liked the parts' appearance better than what they had on the King Ranch stock, so I got them. I have the Navigator center console, Harley edition interior chrome pieces and corner lights, Blackwood gas door and exterior chrome window trim, and the Lightning tail lights, 3rd brake light, and intercooler water pump.

Incidentally, I also have an IAT sensor off a 95 Thunderbird Super Coupe. What does that make me?

Yes, 1000% sure. Because when I saw the HARLEY-DAVIDSON across the bottom I knew that the badge must have been an HD badge not a KR(because they are similar), but I pulled up RIGHT next to it and it was a KR badge, no question.

Why would someone have a Harley-Davidson F-150 and then put a King Ranch logo on it? That's kinda lame...that's like making a book cover with your name on it for a book that you didn't write and telling people that you wrote and published it. Why would this person do that?
