does anyone regrat buying a king ranch?
The only, only, only, sole, singular, one, solitary regret I have about my KR is the fuel "economy." I wish it actually got what the window sticker said it gets. The absolute best I've ever gotten was on a long trip just a week or two after I bought it - I got just over 17 mpg. Other than that, between here and work, it hovers just below 14 - and that's highway driving! But, to be fair, I do tend to put my foot in it a bit. I have found that the fuel mileage is really sensitive to speed. If you go 55 with the a/c off, you can get over 17 - I've never seen 18, other than short bits coasting down hills or something.
BUT
I
LOVE
THIS
TRUCK!!!
I have gotten more comments on this truck than any other vehicle I have ever owned - this is significant to me because (1) I've owned it only about three months, and (2) I have previously owned a Porsche 944 and I was one of the first people many years ago to get the Dodge Intrepid when it was a brand-new model and was a hot new departure in design (I got a few comments on it, but not as many as with the KR).
As others have said, if you're going to use it as a truck to haul stuff back and forth to the fishing camp, and you'll be getting in it with wet, swampy clothes or something, then this is definitely not the truck for you. If you want a truck that you'll be proud to give other people rides in, and will love using as a daily driver, but that can still pull a nice boat with, then this is the truck - there is simply NO other pickup on the road that comes close to being as nice as the KR!!

In fact it, and the New England states, are the only part of the US I've never visited.
So watch out....it's on my list !!
Several of us here are on our second KR. When you go out and buy a second one, there's clearly no regrets. In July of this year, I traded my 2002 KR Supercab 4X4 with only 14,000 miles on it for a 2005 KR Super Crew 4X4. There were several reasons for the trade but there was never a doubt that the trade would be for another KR.
I would echo every comment that's already been made. No reason to repeat them. Purchasing a KR is a personal choice because like someone else already said, you can buy a truck that will do the same for a lot less money.
It's your decision. Good luck with it.
