Yes...there was something indefineable about the first KR's.

Possibly the fact they were far less common, but somehow they were neater and more stylish than the latest models....and yet there I was first in the line to get the new ones when they came out....

Very strange..perhaps its just nostalgia amongst us oldies !!!!

I think John hit it on the head -- the nostalgia is prevalent. Like John, I jumped on board early with the 2005 and have looked back on my 2001 ever since. I really liked that truck (other than it not being 4wd and catching crap from Skagel about that).

I am glad to see a few of them around every now and then. They're certainly diamonds in the rough.

Bought my 2008 KR Supercrew about 3 weeks ago. Black/Tan, 4x4. I don't think there is a single option I didn't buy on it Absolutely love it, and have been immersed in reading posts on this site ever since. I'm a moderator over at a 1st gen. Camaro site (camaros.net) and have a 1967 Camaro also, so I'm obviously a forum junkie I figured this was the best place for my first post. Cheers!

Okay, where are the pictures? Let's see 'em!

Oh, and as for the covered bed thing, you drove a covered bed before... your SUV. Unless you were driving a Suburban, the room shouldn't be an issue. You still have more room with your truck - just get a lid for it! It will be the best $600 you ever spent. Trust me.

Keep me posted on these - I am curious how you end up going about them. I am most interested in the backup camera (if the OEM Ford one).

And happy new year!

Just got my third King Ranch

Yep, just got my 2008 King last week. Had a 2002, 2005 and now a 2008. Previous were the Chestnut and Copper. Decided on the Forest Green this time. Love it. Also got the 20" wheels.
I used to post here under BigKingRanch but for some reason (noticed a long time ago) that that screen name didn't work and never could get it to work after that.
Oh well.
Too cold here in Iowa to get a pic, but as soon as I do I will post.
We kept seat covers on our buckets on the 2005 and they looked brand new when we traded it. Didn't use the leather conditioner once. I know, I know why cover those beautiful seats?? Two reasons, the 2002 we didn't and they looked horrible and we also got a German Sherpherd that has to ride shotgun. Covering the console and seats saved them.
Soooo, I am looking for some seat covers that fit the KR well. The last ones we just lived with. Can anyone direct me to where I can get some?
Nice to see some of the same posters here!!!

Lori
