You'll be happy to know there appears to be a harness in the radio bezel where the reverse sensor button would have gone. It actually hangs in a bracket behind the black cut-out where your cigar lighter is.
It looks like Ford ran the wiring, but did not include the option on some KR's. Totally confusing - you market a $44,000 truck and leave a $230 option off? Go figure.
There are no holes pre-drilled in the bumper - the two holes for the other two sensors near the license plate bracket are there though.

Joe could you provide more detail on your installation? Did you use the factory harness & parts or was it an aftermarket kit? I have an '05 Lariat and didn't realize that option was not on my truck. I checked behind the cig lighter bezel and sure enough the harness for the dash switch is hanging there in a dummy plug. I would like to use the factory system if at all possible and was wondering if it's as simple as getting the two hole dash bevel, the dash switch, installing the rear bumper sensors and plugging everything in?
TIA
I'm interested in this too. My dealer said there is no OEM add on at this time. I tried to get him to show me the scematics for the sensor - as in "I have it but was rear-ended and need new sensors." He said I'd have to buy the whole bumper.
If additional information becomes available, please post.

My dealer is checking into adding the factory rear sensing system and I'll post his results. He took my VIN and my brothers VIN - he has an '05 Lariat as well but his came with the rear sensing system - anyway my dealer is going to print the build sheets and compare - said it would be much easier to determine that way. I'm also going to check his truck to see if the harness for the rear bumper sensors is there and if so it may just be a matter of adding a relay an having my dealer "enable" the system in the control module....

I also tried to find the wiring harness underneath thinking that it too had been installed but not connected - I wasn't able to locate it, but that's not to say it isn't there.
Thanks again.
My f-150 came with the rear reversing system as an option, I like my truck, hate the reverse sensing system. When your backing up with a trailer, it beeps, haul 2x4 ect longer than 8 ft, beeps, if snow/mud on the sensors, it beeps. If you can't paralle park, I don't think you should be driving a truck, I'm to lazy to turn it off when I'm backing up, My 04 f-150 reg cab 4x4 long box has a topper on the back and I have no problem backing up, with the reverse sensor turned off.
It's not a question of not being able to PARALLEL park.
That has little to do with the intention of the reversing aid etc. (ET CETERA....from the Latin Et (and) Cetera (following).
The intention is to let you know of things behind your truck of which you were unaware.
The fact that it beeps while you are reversing up to something and letting you know the remaining distance available is a small part of it's usefulness.
Two occasions when it was helpful for me was firstly when a small car pulled up so close behind me while I was in the truck and I could not see it in ANY of my mirrors. Another time a garbage bin rolled up behind the truck and again I started to reverse but the warning system did it's job.
The same could easily happen if a small child was innocently playing near the back of your truck.....the reverse sensor is not to let you know how close you can reverse towards the child, but the fact that it is there in the first place !
The fact that the system beeps when you have a trailer is almost irrelevant...I tow a boat and when reversing you are generally being so careful and keeping such a close watch on things it really doesn't matter.

Thanks, Lenticular.
You're correct in assuming that I am concerned about accidentally backing over an unseen object or, worse yet, one of the neighbor's kids playing in the driveway.
I don't think folks that use forums to "flame" others should be allowed to post - too bad there's not a sensor to warn about that.

The best way to insure thiers no kids/bikes/objects is to walk around your truck before you back up. Relying on a sensor to insure pedestrian safety and not your proper care and attention operating your car/truck is silly/lazy, the rear reverse sensing system is not 100% effective. ( Read the disclaimer in the F-150 owners manual )
I'm not flamming any one here, a loud warning of your intent to back up would be more beneficial to those around you, if you want a R.R.S.S and find it beneficial to you, great, This weekend, I'm disconecting mine.

I agree with you. Again, you assume incorrectly. I typically do look behind my vehicle before getting into it. However, the added security and safety of a rear sensor would be a welcomed feature on my truck.
Admittedly, determining the distance between my rear bumper and the car behind me is sometimes a problem when I parallel park - especially when the vehicle is small and low to the ground.
The KR forum has been friendly until your arrival. I took the time to read some of your other posts... you're not a very nice person and none of what you've contributed on this forum seems to be useful. In fact, other members have gone so far as to tell you to "shut-up."
I won't request that of you though. To each his own - if you get your kicks out of flaming others, knock yourself out.
