Front/Reverse Object sensors

Was looking for assistance to see if anyone has installed front or rear bumper object sensors on their F-150. Mine is 2003 SuperCrew. Anyone recommend a brand? Easy to install? Any issues with Electrical systems after installation?

Thanks for the assist!

Best regards,

Joe

Joe... I installed the Parking-E system a couple years ago... installation wasn't too difficult.... the system has worked great... one thing I like about it is that it also gives you a digital display as to exactly how many feet an object is behind you as well as it's location (left, center, right).

Do a search on "reverse sensor" and you should be able to find a bunch of info... there's several folks who have done this....

Here's a pic of mine (Parking-E)

I just put in this system, it's been working well for me.

I got the Pyle PLPSE3 $34.99

I fabricated some clips to mount the sensors on the bottom edge of the bumpers so I didn't have to drill.

Mike:

Thanks a bunch. Looks Great BTW.

Does it run off the truck'l electrical system or a seperate battery?

Best regards,

Joe

Joe - here's the link where I got mine..http://www.stratusgroupsite.com/shop.htm

I bought the 4 sensor version with digital display. It runs off your electircal system (switched power - only on when truck is on). There's a relay triggered by your reverse lights so that it only works when you're in reverse.

I believe Stratus private labels the system now from some other mfg (Quanan Technology) - the customer service at Stratus though was top-notch - they even sent out extra sensors for free when I thought one of mine was bad (it wasn't bad in then end though)

I found the easiest way was taking off the entire bumper to do the install (4 bolts to take off bumper). Hardest part was drilling the holes into the bumper - not physically hard, but mentally... :o Nice thing about the kit was everything was supplied, including the cone drill to make the exact size hole into the bumper...
