THe dealer just gave me the VIN on my ordered truck. I put it in the VIN decoder and it looks like I am getting the Ford Pickup 8 cylinder Kansas City built truck. Whew!!

Does anybody know what this means in terms of build dates or days?

Maybe I wasn't clear. My first sentence was sarcastic. What I'm wondering is, how do people know if thier truck was built on a Monday or Friday by looking at the VIN? I've seen post stating such things like "I've got a Monday truck".. Can you really tell that by the VIN?
Also, for people that have ordered trucks and received their VIN, how long after that did you have to wait?

i ordered my 2005 F250 CC 4x4 PSD on November 22. Just called my dealer a few minutes ago and he told me it was already built and it will be shipped via train next week for delivery the week of the 20th. Who hoo!!! Just before Xmas!

 

OK - I ordered mine the same time and they say it hasn't even been started yet(even though they did give me the vin). Are you sure they ordered it, or did they just find one that matched the one you ordered?

 

Finally got a build date for my truck - December 20th. So best case is I get it the 27th. But the dealer also informed me of rail car shortages/strikes that are potentially occurring and I may not get it until after the holidays.. PLEASE SANTA - I'VE BEEN REALLY GOOD THIS YEAR
