King Ranch?

My Dad just bought an 02 F-150 4x4 with the four door cab.
It's a pretty nice truck but a little under powered with the 4.6L

Anyway how do I know if it's a King Ranch?

Also what mods have you guys noticed the greatest gains with?

I bought him Flowmaster exhaust and an Intake for Christmas.
We're getting headers for it before winter is over and maybe
a chip.

Because there are King Ranch badges all over it, and the interior is like nothing you've ever seen before !!

Oh, then I guess his isn't a King Ranch.
His just says Triton and 4x4.
So the interior is better and it has name badges on it?
Any difference in engine specs?

Thanks for the info.

If you had to ask, then it's not a KR.

EDIT: I wouldn't say the interior is better, I'd say it's different. IT's the same truck as everyone else, just dressed up.

Man if I ever owned a truck with really nice interior
it would probably get wrecked. We use trucks for
off-roading and heavy work loads. That's a cool
option though for someone who would like a
luxurious interior. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of it before.

Anyone have comments on my second part of the
first post?

Yes they really are nice and despite my slightly tongue in cheek repost to Mr D. I have to say that they do need caring for.
I've actually seen a King Ranch 250 Super Duty being used on the King ranch as a work truck.....
(They can obviously afford that sort of thing !)...
....and the interior was a total mess.

As for modifications I'm not the one to answer as I don't believe in them for many reasons.

A. You never get your money back

B. Often cause problems with warranty work

C. If the performance isn't good enough then maybe it was the wrong purchase in the first place.

I am only talking about performance modifications, as we all have use of tonneaus etc. that make the vehicle a bit more individual.

Don't get me wrong, I dig the KR models. But it's just some nicer leather and different colors. If they A. had the KRs for '04 and B. would offer them without the flow-through console I may have gotten one.

Didn't mean to diss you guys...

A. You never get your money back on the vehicle anyway.

B. Find the right Dealer I have plenty of mods on my Cougar
and have had many things replaced while under warranty
that were in direct contact with the mods on the car.

C. Research the modifications you are looking to purchase.
This rule should be followed with anything you buy in life.
Don't just buy the first mod you come across.

Either way I agree with you sometimes mods just
complicate things.

But I'm not gonna take my Dad on the trails with a stock F-150.
I'd be pulling him out left and right if we left it stock.

power first then lift and meats.

Don't worry...you didn't !!!

I keep a watching brief on the other forums and know your modus operandi from that !!

I don't often post over there since most can't cope with...or understand...my dry sense of humor !

Plus a lot of what I see winds me up and I'll just get into trouble for being a miserable old git when I complain about poor standards of spelling and grammar.

(Plus such poor taste in T and A !!!!)

dzervit,

There is acutally one feature that the 05 KR's have that some other owners are wishing they had. Power folding side mirrors. Not a big deal but only available on the KR. I could not fit in my garage witout them.
