Sellling my 2002 and getting an '05!!!

Well, the lure of the new '05 was too strong! I swore i would never sell my 2002. I made the mistake of test driving an '05 when I was at the dealer for service and well, the rest restis more debt...

Has anyone sold their older body style KR? I want to get a sense of what the market is willing to pay. Mine is a 2002 with 34K miles. Leather is near perfect and the truck in immaculate. Estate green...

I am so excited, I cannot wail...

4x4 or 4x2? I'm in the same boat as you, looking to trade my 02 XLT FX4 Screw with 23k miles. Dealer is telling me about $20,000 trade in, but not dealing too much on the price of the 05 KR. May have to wait til next fall...

Go to Ford's website to 'build your own' to get the exact MSRP of the truck you want. Then go to edmunds and price the same truck until you get very similiar MSRP's - it will then give you dealers invoice right beside it. When I ordered mine Saturday, I called the salesman and told him what MSRP was and what invoice was and said he needed to be very close to invoice otherwise I was wasting my time. He said come on in and I got $500 over invoice on a KR 4x4. I've done better before, but I thought this was pretty fair for a new trim model.

Good luck!

BTW - This price DID NOT include the $1500 rebate. I'm going for the 1.9% financing.

When I want to order I told the sales guy that I wanted to get it for invoice. He agreed and when it arrived I traded in my 02 XLT 4x2 and got what I owed which is all I was looking for.

I went with the 1.9 so that when I leave the US Marine Corps it will be paid.

Don't know how much this helps but I traded an 01 F-250 SCAB 4X4 with 84K miles and got 13.5K trade. Dealer discounted O5 by 7K off MSRP.

I'm very tempted too by the 2005s but I'll hold out for now. I'm going to buy one of the new '05 Mustangs in January/February. Test drove one on the Homestead/Miami Speedway last week during the Ford VIP days. That car is unbelievable.

Traded my 01 w/45K miles for an 05 a few weeks ago.

I got $1200 over KBB.com value for trade which almost brought it to private party value.
