You won't take a beating at all......

It beats me that with modern paint technology and computerisation of spray booths that you can't have virtually any color you want.

I was VERY disappointed when I saw the choice of colors for the 05 KR, and indeed for the O5 Expy, and I have ordered a color I'm not totally thrilled with...and for me color is everything in a vehicle.

I do speak with experience on this one as I recently bought a car where the colour choice was huge and got exactly what I wanted.

Hey Brad....

Sorry to hear about the "Quandry".

Sounds like you need to plan for a long road trip in that new truck..........to South Padre Island !!!

(Via the King Ranch of course !)

That will give your mind something else to focus on.

To save this thread from going into a 'sympathy for RP' mode, I'll refrain from saying anymore than this...

If it's meant to work out, it's going to... I just keep trying to make myself believe it.

What do you think about the color contrast on those two Dark Stone pictures.

I am going to have to get two different shots of the Dark Copper 1 - very sunny 2 - overcast.

Don't get me wrong on this point I love the Dark Copper but it is very interesting the color swing it takes.
1 - looks brown 2- looks grey

any thoughts, maybe none I don't see any votes for Dark Stone.

I've noted the same thing Chris. Oddly enough, I saw a Dark Stone on the lot today when I ran through the stealership to get a tube of touchup paint. The way that the sun was hitting it, it made it look tannish brown... very interesting.

I like the color but, it's way down the list for me.

I agree as I stated in an earlier post. Again I wish they would have offered that satin green on the F150.

Hey guys,

I know I ordered the Dark Copper and I was hoping that it would look as snazy as the Chestnut but it doesn't appeal to me as much as the Chestnut did. If I had to do it again, which I doubt will happen any time soon, I'd go for the Oxford White. I had a new '00 Oxford White Lariat Super Cab 4x4 F150 and I absolutely loved that truck. The '00 was the only vehicle I ever owned new that in two years never needed one single trip to the dealer except to buy it and to sell it and of course it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact it was white .

Later,

I looked at an 05 Dark Stone KR on a dealers lot last weekend and in that light, it was definitely brown. I've also looked at pictures where it looked grey. I'm not thrilled with it in either light.

I've also looked at the Chestnut almost side-by-side with the new Dark Copper and the difference is distinctive. Separate and apart, they do look pretty close in color but not together. And for someone who likes the Chestnut color, the Dark Copper just isn't close enough to accept.

So, for the 05 model year I'll have to go with Black as my choice of color. So far, my will power is holding strong so it probably won't matter but you never know what might happen. Part of the reason I'm able to hold out is the lack of new 05 KRs to look at. There are probably a dozen dealerships between Williamsburg and Virginia Beach (the Tidewater area) with hundreds of 05 F-150s in inventory and only one 05 KR to look at. That's disappointing. Another reason is the low mileage on my 02 KR. Of course I could probably get a real good trade-in with the condition of the truck and such low mileage but with nothing to look at, there's no incentive.

So for now I'm holding out. Hey - Rockpick. Do you know how long Ford and King Ranch have agreed to produce the "King Ranch" trim line on the F-150? I know that was brought up a while back and I seem to remember there was a contract for several years. Do you know when that contract is suppose to run out? I will have a new King Ranch before they discontinue the model!

Hey Chestnut,

I think I heard that they are going to discontinue the line at the end of this year

You better hurry down there and get one before they're all gone

Just kidding you know.

How's everything else, I know the King Ranch Itch part, I was just wondering about all other aspects of life, hehe.

Later,

I'm the single Dark Stone vote - I've seen it in person and like it. It's a little different from anything out there.

How come no Blue color? If they offered a blue, I think I would be putting an order in.

I don't have any idea when they're going to chop it off at the knees. We knew, for a fact, that Ford and KR's relationship was to end with the 2003 model however; after negotiations, they extended it and made it even larger (Expedition).

DAVEMAN -

Oh my gosh! I better run out, find an open dealer today, and order a new KR. I wonder if my wife will accept that explanation?

Other than the KR itch, things are fine. Fall has fallen. The weather is turning cooler and the leaves are orange and yellow. Work is busy. I'm going to Las Vegas the week of Dec 6 for a conference. Can't complain about that.

Hope things are well with you. The holidays will soon be here and thats always an enjoyable time of year.

Best to you and your family.

The black does look the best but it would look bad on my truck because I don't wash it much. The copper is cool but seem common and looks like it would be hard to match if in a fender bender. my stang is green so I wouldn't want a green truck.
I voted for the dark stone, I really like that color. If when I get my new truck I think it will be that color.

I voted, but have to agree that I'm not fond of the overall selection. Doesn't make much difference tho, as the wife has said absolutely not to a new truck. Mine only has 23k on it anyway so it's not like its wore out. I like my Charcoal Blue better than any of the current offerings, but if forced, would have to go to Black or White.

Looks like COPPER is leading the pack with WHITE making a charge...

Anyone is welcome to vote!
