Opinions Wanted

Well, I took delivery of my '05 150 KR in the Dark Copper, and absolutely love it, with one exception.

I'm not a big fan of two-tone paint. Future plans call for a mild lowering, 20" tires & wheels, etc, but nothing really wild. Just a nice street truck.

I'm considering swapping out the F & R bumpers for chrome units, removing the factory arch protectors, and having the lower body sprayed Dark Copper.

Is this a bad move? I mean, would it totally screw up the value of my KR by not having the AB lower color? I just think it would look sooo much cleaner as one color, especially in the Copper color.

Lemme know what you think.

Whatever makes you happy is best !!

However it's not really a true two tone.....as the blurb states it's an accent color.

I think you would hurt resale value but if you plan on keeping the vehicle a long time that issue will become less meaningful.

Overall though I would counsel against the idea.

Just my NSHO

I like the idea of the lowering, rims and tires. Would look nice. I am looking at going the other way. I have already ordered the autospring lift to level it out and then once the tires have become worn I was going with something bigger.

I concur with the photoshop rec, have someone do the lowering part first and then try the bumpers.

Good luck, would like to see what you come up with via photoshop and what you actually do.

Do you have pics of the truck know?

Well, if I go through with it, the badges would come off anyway. I've never been one for leaving badges on.

I was going to take some picts this morning, but the batteries were dead. I'll charge 'em tonight so hopefully I'll have a few tomorrow.

Decisions, decisions.

You'll have holes to fill if you loose the badges as they are mounted with posts...

Also, I concur with the photoshop idea. It's your truck and you need to do what makes you happy. Like Lenny though, I'd lean more towards the two-tone...

Good luck!

Greg,

The King Ranch model carries a very high resale value IF kept original (lowering or raising it a bit being acceptable). Making the modifications you have mentioned would decrease the resale value to most but if it makes you happy then as they say, "to each his own".

Whatever you decide to do please keep us informed via pictures of you "mods".

And if you're going to remove the KR badges let me know as I would be interested in them (want to make a couple of tow hitch plugs using the KR portion of the badge as I have seem others do).
