Programming Spare Remote...
Updated: Programming Spare Remote...
...for Remote Starter system on my 2001 KR 4WD. Got two (2) replacement keys programmed today (now have 3) but when I went to program the (second) remote unit (FCC code: GOH-FOUR) the instructions are as follows:
1. Make sure the system is disarmed and the ignition is off.
2. Open the driver’s door.
3. Turn vehicle ignition on.
4. Press and hold emergency override button. - they say it is under the dash but I have looked everywhere and I do not know what I am suppose to be looking for. HELP - where is it located and what does it look like? I can't find any buttons anywhere.
Since it was a dealer install (back when the KR was new and installed in Texas) do you think my local dealer would know what this emergency override button is and where it is located?
The remote starter system is the Ford GOLD system (looks like the Code Alarm 630).
08OCT04 - Found the button - it was broken. Had it replaced this afternoon at a local car security shop. All's fine.
