I would appeciate it if you could give me the part number. Is the color of this color ok? I don't want a cover that is going to look odd because the color is off.
Thanks,
Petro

Petro - RP hit it on the head. It is the same Arizona Beige that the KR tonneau is, just without the logo. Same cover exactly, all the same mounting hardware etc. I got lucky because my dealer had it in his back storage room. He had ordered it for a KR owner back in '01, and when it came in it didn't have the logo. The guy wanted the logo so Mike had to order another tonneau with the logo. This one had been sitting in the back since then, still new in the box. My only problem was I told Mike when I bought my KR last February that I wanted the AZ Beige tonneau and he said they don't make them anymore. So about four months ago I finally broke down and bought a black one. Then he tells me last month that he had forgotten about the one in the back. Long story short, I bought it and put it on and the black one is now back in the bag in the garage. The wife says she liked the black one better but I like the AZ Beige. Matches perfectly. If RP can get the number on that one, wait, I might be able to get that for ya' , you might be able to do a part search for the one without the logo. I'll see if I can get the number. RP might have it as well.

PS, I'll try to get a couple pics of my cover. The truck is dirty so no remarks about that. I'm in the middle of moving and don't have much time to keep up with the cleanliness of my truck.

Hi all -

I've answered quite a few e-mail in the last week. I got my cover off of Ebay. I recently found another one that I snatched up (always good to have a back up).

I debated between the King Ranch cover and an ordinary Access Roll - up. I have gotten SO many compliments on the King Ranch. As I mentioned earlier, my mom even likes it.

Best of luck with your searches.

King Ranch Arizona Beige Tonneau P/N

For the one with the KR logo: 1L3Z-84501A42-FA

Without the logo: 1L3Z-84501A42-EA

I just had (21JUN) the dealership run a nationwide check on the availability of either part number and (of course) nothing came up on their screens.

But that doesn't mean that these P/N's are not out there - just next to impossible to find.

If by chance I ever find more than one I will buy them and let the readers here know about it. And whatever price I paid for mine will be the price for the others + shipping of course (if I am ever that lucky).

I found the same thing cjw. I think there are a few of them nestled away in corners but, they're DEFINATELY hard to find!

Even the manufacturer of the tonneau doesn't have any stock (as I was going to buy everyone that they had on hand). For that case, they don't even have the equipment to manufacture that style of tonneau any longer.

With the re-introduction of the King Ranch, one would think that FORD would have these highly desireable tonneau covers (with the KR logo) produced again - for the 2005's but also for all other years.

Maybe a letter writing (e-mailing) campaign to FORD might get something rollin'. Can't hurt.

90% Want Hard Covers........

Is this right? If I was to poll all of the members of this forum would 90% of them reply that they would choose a hard cover over an Arizona Beige soft snapless roll up?

If the KR owners would reply with their choice please (remembering the cost of either cover) - HARD (if you choose a hard cover) - or - SOFT AB (if you choose an Arizona Beige soft cover).

Thanks.

I would rather have a soft snapless due to the fact that I am constantly hauling my mortorcyle or 4 wheeler around.
By the way I got a sample from truxedo and the color is way to light to match the arizona biege.

I prefer the soft AB tonneau, hence why it's on the KR. Anyway, I too am hauling things on a regular basis and like the ease of taking the soft on and off.

KRC
90% is 90% - either all KR owners or those who are members of this forum. Having been in manufacturing for way too many years, I have had the opportunity to have discontinued items fabricated when and IF enough demand was generated for it. Yes the likelihood of the FORD contractor to make the King Ranch Tonneau Cover for the models other than 2004 / 2005 is very slim (if at all) but there is nothing stopping us from requesting that the exact same vinyl used (Arizona Beige) by the original fabricator be made available to another current tonneau cover manufacturers to make a special KR version of their cover (with or without logo since FORD owns it, right?).

This is the intent of my asking those who read this forum to vote on if they would want a special KR Arizona Beige tonneau cover. We get enough YES votes and maybe, just maybe something positive can happen. I've been instrumental in getting this type of activity done in the past and I would not mind spearheading this "adventure".

(Added @ 2:50pm PDST) - I spoke to a Ford Motor Company Customer Service Manager and she found that LEER was the manufacturer of the Arizona Beige tonneau covers. I called LEER and have sent a letter to the VP in charge explaining that there are many F150 KR owners that would love to be able to purchase a soft roll up cover made with the Arizona Beige vinyl.

Let's see when I get a reply and what LEER has to say.
