need opinion on purchase of king ranch QUICK!!

hello all,
I've been reading this forum about all day, love this site.

Heres my dillema. Theres a 02 KR chestnut, rear buckets, 5.4, tow package, leather? snap bed cover thingy, sunroof and i think 3.55 ls might be 3.7ls.
Only thing I dont care for is the bucket rears , I would prefer bench but no biggy.
Only flaws i noticed was the driver side rear saddle pouch magnet doesnt work worth a *****.
What do you guys think i should offer????? Oh yeah it has 27,100.
the factory 36/36 runs out jan of 05 and then theres a 5/75 limited warranty.
They said they would take 23,800 cash but I think thats high.
The black book has 20,800 trade in and 23800 retail.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

21,500. The market is fairly saturated with used KRs. I'd check to see if they have maintenance records and such. If you want a rear bench, I'd hold out for a rear bench. It can be found.

Also, welcome to our little posse. Good luck with your decision!

rockpic,
Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking of starting there and going up to 22,000
Yes there do seem to be a few KR for sale on ebay, just not to many locally.
As far as i know there are only two in my sate, SC. The one im looking at and my brother has an 01 w/ 24,000 miles for $20,000 but he has no sunroof and his warranty runs out next month.

If the one im looking at had the bench I would give them 22k tmrw. Do you know where else to look, besides ebay, for KR's for sale?
thanks again

Just purchased...

I paid $22.5 for an 02 with 24K miles. I am in the SF Bay area so there are not a lot of trucks to choose from. After reading this forum, I decided to pay a little more as the leather was PERFECT! Even came with a half fyull bottle of KR conditioner.

SOme of my stats:

Estate Green
rear bench
3.55( I will never tow)
5.4L
Spray on liner (x liner I think...??)
Bed Extender

I may have what you are looking for:

2002 KR 2wd
Green/Beige
5.4 liter
50k miles
Ext. warranty till Jan 2005
Rear Bench seat (60/40)
Rear Seat ent., System w/screen & VCR, & CD changer
(OEM option from Ford)
Air Force One FIPK system
Tinted windows
Roll-n-lock bed cover
Line-x spray in liner
Towing package
All records, a friend is a Ford Master tech and it gets OVER serviced.
Never hit or smoked in.
Leather is very good.
One small 1.5 inch scratch/ding in tail gate.

Have VERY good detailed pics.

Live in North Florida, would consider meeting part way to South Carolina.

All I want is my payoff, $19,300

Cool

If you like the color - I can assure you guests will like the buckets. Get a cashiers check made out for 21K and lay it on the desk. Tell them it's all you can go and they have to decide. Bet it will work.
Good luck,
Frank

We only allow one mistake of this kind per day or per visit. LOL! Then again, it is just green... The only color that you have to ""REALLY"" know about is Chestnut Brown!
