What's occurring ? (And a Mustang question !)
What's occurring ? (And a Mustang question !)
Has this forum gone to sleep...?
Anyway I have a question......and it's not about KR's.
Before RP shoots me down please reply to my E mail address as this is really out of bounds.
Do any of the regulars here have interest in or knowledge of, older Mustangs ?
I KNOW I could go to a Mustang forum but I really don't have the time to register and trawl through all the facets of a new forum.
The long and short is that of all the many cars I have owned...I never had a Mustang...though always hankered after one.
Now the chance has come along.....and I need to act quickly.
I do know enough about the cars to know that some years are more desirable than others, but does any expert lurk out there who can assist in a little more depth ?
Ta ever so !!!!

Lenny,
I agree, while I don't post much it does seem a little slow...
As for the stang (and to keep it IN the forum
) I'd love a Mach 1 or 66 ragtop WITH CASTANO
I'm far from an expert but always wanted one of these Stang Link
Sorry RP...

No need to appologize to me guys... you know I'm very tolerant here...
It has been quiet here... no doubt. I have had little to no free time lately to do much on here short of moderate on a couple of boards (www.meguiarsonline.com and here). Couple that with work/life/dog/truck/oh yeah... wife and I'm strung pretty thin at the moment.
Next week isn't looking any better either... worse in fact. *sighs*
No clue about the Stang' John... Although, I do have a co-worker that is a TOTAL motor head and owns a Cobra (and a Boxster). He can tell you just about anything that you'd want to know about the Stang'... shoot me an email if you want me to ask him something (then again, you'll have to wait until he's back in the office as he's been travelling more than I have on business...)

Lenticular,
I may be of some help to you on vintage mustangs. I have owned a few over the years, as well as some late models. Let me know of any questions you may have and if you get a chance check out my gallery, I have posted some pictures of past and present Mustangs.

Lenny - Ask away with me too. I have owned six different mustangs thru the years. Ranging from '66 to '00. I am sort of a Mustang freak. Even have a pretty cool Mustang tattoo. Anyway, if I can't answer the questionl I can probably find it for you.

Thanks again...!
It seems as though KR's and Mustangs go hand in hand.
Again I know it's really out of the ball park (Gee...am I sounding American or what!), but I will reproduce here what I have said already in E mails to some of you.
Perhaps our dear beloved moderator (Crawl, crawl) won't react too badly, because the story DID start with me visiting my dealership to keep in their good books for when the KR is first out in it's new incarnation.
Proposed Mustang Purchase.
I was visiting my usual Ford dealer where I buy my trucks, and happened to mention that I might be interested in a Mustang Convertible for enjoying the sunshine down here in Texas.
I don’t actually particularly like the modern mustang but as a car it would fulfil a purpose.
The owner of the dealership knew I was into classic cars and mentioned that he collected Mustangs !!
He offered to show us some of them, firstly a HiPo Convertible from 1965 that for some reason is one of only 10 to that spec.
It is a show winner and was in it’s trailer ready for a show in Tennessee.
He then showed me a 72 Convertible (Spec below) in yellow.
I had not at this point said that I would consider buying an older car, but he said that he would be happy to sell it to me. (The dealership owed me a favour because of a previous screw up !)
Now I really do trust this dealer…they are a long established family company, and are always very friendly.
What is more he said that he had not told anyone he was thinking of selling his cars and if I bought it he would ask that he had first refusal to buy back if ever I sold it !
He also has (Though I didn’t see it) a dark green 65 convertible, he would sell me.
Now…he wants 15 K for the '72 and 17.5 for the '65.
They are both fine cars…not show winners but excellent everyday drivers….well almost everyday…you know what I mean.
I actually prefer the shape of the 72 though understand the 65 is more desirable.
What do you think?
