Question Selling a 2001 King Ranch, Value?

Guy's

I have a 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew King Ranch 4x4 truck that I'm "THINKING" about selling.. I love the TRUCK but I just changed jobs and now drive 120 Miles a day roundtrip. Im looking to goto Diesel to get better GAS mileage. I have follwed some King Ranch trucks people have been selling and see a wide range of pricing... So I figured I'd check with some EXPERTS and tell me what you think...

Here are some Spec's (Every Option that I know of that was available on a 2001)
Truck is in Exellent Condition
49,000 Miles
Extras I have added
Spray In bedliner, Factory Bed-Extender, Vinyl Bed Cover, DVD System in the Truck, Ranch-Hand Rear Bumper (Custom Painted to match the Tan 2-tone color). Some NEW Rancho RS9000X 9 Position Adjustable Shocks (x4), Firestone Airsprings (for heavy loads), Set of 33X10.50x17 inch Pro-Comp AT Tires (18,000 Miles on them)(With Lifetime Road-Hazard Warranty from Discount Tire)
Clifford Alarm System with Remote Start, NON Smoker, Garage Kept, 1 Owner. Synthetic Oil user for life of the vehicle. I even have a 100,000 Extended Warranty with NO Deductable. I have a set of NEW King ranch replacement Seat Covers I could put on or throw in ($400 each from FORD). Im guessing I have about 5k In extras added.

I have checked the 3 main sources for 3rd Party Selling with GOOD condition (The truck is actually in Excellent condition, but chose to use the middle value which was GOOD).
Edmunds.com =$23,769 KBB.COM=$22,190 and then Black Book from Cars.com=$23,800

I can take some pictures if Needed..
I'm in TEXAS
Look Forward to hearing from ya..

You'll be able to command a little more if you work on that paint a little.... just a thought.

Ball park price selling it out right would be 23.5K

Trading it, you'll take a beating as you'll recoup nearly none of your mod investments.

Ya I kinda thought the same thing.. But 2 Dealerships today gave me a $22,180 & $22,280 Trade in value and then I would get the $980 from the remainder of my EXT Warranty. Plus Im sure I could swap the shocks back out and they would never know ..

So now Im in DEBATE mode, I love my KINGRANCH but the Gas Mileage is gonna kill me if I keep it...

not to mention the Sales Tax I would get back on top of my trade in ($22k X 6.25%)

so, when you trade it back to the dealership, you collect sales tax?

The way it works is like this..

Lets say the truck Im buying is 40,000 and then offer me $25,000 for my truck. Then I ownly pay the difference in the Tax.. In this case would be $15,000 x 6.25%

And yes I have not waxed my truck in 3 months, one good buffing would bring the paint back to life.. During Hunting season I dont do much to it since it stays muddy/dirty during this time..

Ahh, I'm on the same page with you now.

I'm floating in that same "I just might trade..." boat.

RP - what are you thinking of trading it in for?

I bought mine used in late October, fully loaded 4x4 with offroad and towing packages, moonroof, etc. The dealer matched the "private party" price that KBB and others reflected, which was $23.9K. The truck was in immaculate shape, with 42K miles. I don't know what the previous owner did with it for 2.5 years, but he never towed and doesn' t look like he went offroad much...like new.

With your mods, you should be able to get AT LEAST that, I would think, unless there are visible defects or damage. Get that thing to a detailing shop and have them give it the works, including under the hood and underneath before you go to have it appraised.

So in other words you are thinking of an F 250 KR ?

And I thought you liked the new F 150 !

And if you are deserting the KR ...well ...................................

cough , splutter, cough !

Well... aren't we one to mention desertion? LOL!

Actually, yes, I admit it, I'm looking at a F-250 with the 6.0 PSD. Estate Green (I'm considering the dark side) and, being that it's Estate, you know it's a KR.

I do love the F-150 KR but, the 250 is going to be cheaper. I have no doubts. A fully loaded Lariat has an A-PLAN price that is greater than a fully loaded F-250 Lariat.

It's really cheaper ?

You surprise me !

I like the presence of the 250 on the road, but

A. Just don't need it

B. I would have to pay more to store it in Houston.

However, the 250 in Estate Green is quite a looker.

The color somehow looks better than on the 150 !

Keep us informed !!

Well, really... I don't need a 250 either. I mean, I rarely haul much nor do I tow much... it's not a necessity, more of a 'want'.

Like nearly every man alive, I have a masked sense of need versus want.

I drove the PSD the other day.... oh my dear gosh. WOW!
