Truck covers

Has anyone had any experience with a poly-cotton vehicle cover. I am interested in the following:

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Where are you planning on using it would be the main question to pursue.

I have a custom cover from CoverCraft which is constructed of Technalon. It's a high-end fabric that is very breathable and very durable.

If you're thinking about using that cover outside, I think you might be a little disappointed in my opinion. All covers, when exposed to copius amounts of precipitation, will eventually allow moisture in.... a good cover will also allow the moisture out.

Just me but, I'd look at spending a little more and getting something that you can use as either a dust cover or a protective cover (UV, rain, snow, ice, bird poo, etc).

Here's a good link: COVERCRAFT COVER MATERIALS

Not a problem in the least.

I might sell my cover as I really don't have a need for it any longer. I bought it to cover my truck while sitting in the parking lot at my former apartment complex but, after buying a house with a garage, I don't think I'm going to be using it much any longer.

I'm going to kick this idea around a little bit before I say 'It's for sale' but, if I do sell it, I'll let you know... that is, if you're interested.

Like I said, it's a custom technalon cover from CoverCraft.com. I also have a lock for the cover (which is pretty lame but, it'll keep the cover on the truck if the wind, per chance, snagged it or if someone thought that they'd just walk off with the cover.)

Thanks, RP

We keep our old Mustang covered when it's in the garage, just in case someone isn't paying attention when they are getting tools out. Also take the cover along on road trips in case of stormy weather, etc.
But if you decide to sell let us (F150 - King Ranch) know.

The site was very helpful.

WOW... I just called and got a quote on a WeatherShield cover from CoverCraft through Meguiars' catalog....

$390!!!!!!!!!

I can't, for the life of me, remember what I gave for my cover. $200... $250 maybe... Heck, I've only used the darn thing like 8 nights and I think it was rained on twice. LOL! It's like new.

I use a Covercraft cover on my King Ranch since I don't have room in my garage. I've pulled it back after a rain just to see if it was keeping the truck dry and it was dry as a bone.

What I like about the Covercraft is the fit, they do a great job making them right.

I got mine from Earl Owen Company in Dallas for $210.00

Rockpick,

My cover is made from what they call Technalon 400 series. The model number is 15814 and it has a 4 year warranty.

I love the job the cover does protecting my truck. Since I don't drive it to work every day I wanted it protected from the Texas sun.

Yep... that's the one I have.... so you paid $210?

I need to try to scrounge up my receipt to see what I paid for mine... I believe it's going on the market.

But, I'm going on vacation first...

Okay... it's on the market.

It's a Technalon custom cover from CoverCraft. It features sideview mirror pockets and a custom fit that is AWESOME. The cover has been used less than 10 times (each for a night at a time) and will come with a cover lock as well (basically a long wire locking mechanism to prevent someone from just walking off with it). The only dirt (very slight at that) on the cover is located around the tires (brake/road dust).

I paid around jayhawkers' mentioned price. Make me an offer.

It will be listed in the classifieds. I'll try to take some pictures of it on the truck (if it doesn't rain cats and dogs this weekend like predicted).

Ad number 17903 in the classifieds (ad number search at the bottom of the 'view classifieds' page). If it does not sell in the first few days, I'll probably put it on ebay.
