King Ranch Gone for Good?

I spoke to my Ford dealer the other day about the new F-150, and I specifically asked about the King Ranch. The dealer said, the King Ranch is gone for good. It will not be produced any longer. Can someone confirm this? When I asked why, he said because of the issues with the leather. Frankly, you'd think they could simply solve that problem, instead of completely eliminating the edition.

That is not what I heard. Also, a couple of King Ranch owners here in our group have some close ties with Ford and say there is still a contract in place for some years to come. If they were going to discontinue it, then they would have not spent the time and money in making the King Ranch available for the F-250 and F-350. They just need to get things strait for the new model F150 before they start producing it. Just like they will not have the 2004 Harley Edition available on the F-150. They will have both available for 2005.

All propaganda man,

I was told by my dealer that they are makeing the King Ranch for 04 job 2 production. Skagel has close ties with Ford and last I heard was Johnson Controls was desigining a seat or steering wheel for the truck. As well, I spoke to King Ranch about some questions I had about the leather and I asked them how long there contract with Ford is good for? she put me through to administration and they said 2006. makes sence, King Ranch production started in 2001 so a 5 year contract would be 2006.

Like Pat pointed out, the KR/Ford team lasts, under contract, until 2006. We **WILL** see a late 2004 or a 2005 model. Sounds like your stealership needs to know what's going on before giving out bad information.

Dealers always give answers, although they are rarely correct ones.
