Got a question / thought

I took a friend of mine to the dealer yesterday to get a F250 King Ranch (RP color), he purchased using my X-plan, he is excited he was able to use X-plan to get more truck as he was originally going to get the Lariat 250. I told him about this site/forum and he came back to me saying that we are only about the F-150 trucks. Since the King Ranch is now available on the F250 and F350 are we expanding? Can we call it the King Ranch forum ins=tead of the F150 King Ranch? What are yall's thoughts?

Damon,

He's got my vote, the more the better. Loonies love company...I don't care if he's got an F750, if it's a Ford and it's a King Ranch package then they're welcomed to the KR forum in my book. Tell him to dive in and help us, we may need to be yanked out of the mud one day, hehehe. Hell, anyone can join and I'm sure everyone will welcome the new truck even if it wasn't a KR.

Actually, now that I think about it, the whole website is called F150Online.com. If we allow anything that's not an F150 then it only seems fair to open up the forum to any Ford truck that falls into some sort of catagory and the KR is a good one. Dunno, just some rambling I guess.

Later,

~DM~

IMHO, the man is highly welcome

(as long as he doesn't start that "mines' bigger than yours" junk ).

The more the merrier!

Pooh

Edit - And let him know that we forgive him for getting a "purple" truck! he! he!

A few other people joined up who had Superduties and got a warm welcome from the folsk here on the board but none of them stuck around long.. I think the reason it says King Ranch F-150 is becuase back when Steve made this forum there was no plan for the Superduties out yet, just like he put F-150 on the end of the Harley Davidson forum too.

Tell him to come on in and have a seat! Not that I have a KR, but I was just giving a few extra cents to the pile.

That is my whole point, now that there are King Ranch F250 and F350s, maybe we should change the forum name.

THen you can talk to Steve (Webmaster) about it, or post it on the suggestions forum.

Damon... I think the majority of people on this site have F150's and that's how the site originally started.... ie, F150online.com... I don't think anyone gives a hoot whether one has a 150, 250, 350, etc.... indeed, look at the forum list and there's forums for Excursions, F250/350, etc...... even folks without Fords come onto the site....

In reality, other than learning about specific King Ranch topics (ie, leather care, KR badges, paint, etc) I'm not sure what informational value the KR forum will provide - ie, for mechanical information, he/she would get better info in the F250/350 forum on this site. Regardless, there is absolutely no reason he/she should feel not welcome here in the KR forum..... (as long as their signature doesn't include them squatting down in front of their truck! ) (j/k)
Agreed.

I think it was established long ago inside the KR forum walls that leather and paint were, above all, the only things that seperated us from our Lariat buddies.

One thing that was not mentioned there was the bonds and friendships that we have here. Sometimes that puts a shadow ontop of information gathering but, I don't think that's any reason to fish elsewhere for info.

No, I'm not suggesting that we never talk 'trucks' here however; I think the bottom line is that we rarely do. We all value each others' opinions. Heck, we still have a boat thread going that Dave started well over a week ago asking for opinions. Obviously, it had NOTHING to do with trucks and tended to wander about slightly however; Dave felt secure enough with us to ask our opinions and for us to give us his input. As friends and fellow owners, we did just that... that's what this forum is more about than trucks. It's about the people. F-150 or a freaking VW beetle... I don't care who they are. If they lurk within our KR forum walls and enjoy the banter that we share on a very frequent basis, that's good enough for me and they are more than welcome here. You don't even have to be a KR owner to enjoy your time here...period.

Some people, including myself, use the forums as a release... everyday stresses in our lives require us to have a place to go to 'unwind' and let loose occasionally. I enjoy spending time with the people here (even if most of you only exist in digital text on my screen) and find it relaxing to joke around and share information about everything from spark plug wires to boat names. I think alot of you do too...

Life is entirely too short to be serious 110% of the time. Live it up and enjoy it just a little bit.

So, after drifting about aimlessly here... jumping back to the topic...

I will make a friendly suggestion to the owner/operator/webmaster of f150online.com and see what he thinks about changing the forum name to King Ranch Edition and see what he thinks... since we are a site founded on vehicles based on the F-150 and now we've expanded outside the realm of being specifically 150's, and we draw more than just LD trucks to the site, I think it's a legitimate question.

Carry on... carry forward... Carrie Grant.

Thank you RP for seeing my point and taking a suggestion a bit further up the chain. This forum is about the King Ranch edition of a Ford truck, which started out to be the F150 and has grown. If Ford can expand the King Ranch to the F250 and F350, than we should as well on the forum. Again, thanks for seeing my point.

I'm with Joe, this kinda' communication is what this board is about.

Now RP, about that 110% thing, can I be, say 50%?.... naaaah, OK 25%, .... naaaah, Ok the heck with it, I'll be serious the 1% a year that I'm doing my taxes and be happy with it
