I had my 2001 Lariat steering wheel replaced about a month ago. It's tan and it had what looked like black specks of grease or dirt and I tried to clean it and found it was actually the finish coming off and revealing the black underneath. I showed it to my service rep and they replaced it, no questions asked. All they had to do was shoot a photo and send it in to Ford. It took about 5 minutes to get approval. So, it was ford, not the dealer that had the final say in the matter. The dealer said that they had never had one turned down.

I got my at Walmart - surely this isn't an all-Canadian product (although made in Toronto with US ingredients - says on the back of the bottle).

I'll try to remember to check this out this evening when I run to Wally-Hell. I need to get some applicator pads as I'm going to be #9 / #7 /#26 my truck this evening... I'll run over there and check. I wonder how it'd work on my 'slightly soiled' center console. Plus, I have one little spot that is on a back seat that I can never get out... (origin still unknown).

I'll post back upon return from Hell.
