How is everyone doing?
How is everyone doing?
Haven't heard from the whole club lately so, in general, how is everyone doing?
Working too hard? (that would be most of us), new major life changes? Wife left a leaky pizza box on the passenger seat of the King (THAT stain ain't coming out!). Like Sean Hannity and O'Reilly? HATE Sean Hannity and O'Reilly? Britanny REALLY pees you off? If you've seen T3 already don't give it up because I haven't.
And MOST of all, good luck and good life on ya'!

Must be the time of year because things have been pretty quiet on the boards. Lots of other things going on that take folks away from the computer. Too little vacation time and too much work!
Lots of talk about a club meeting on another thread. I think its a great idea but extremely difficult to pull off. We're spread out all over the place and that means too many schedules to try and mesh. I hope it happens but quite honestly, I'm not optimistic.
I hope to take a week and a half during mid-September. I've got it on the books but you never know. Kids will be back in school by then and it shouldn't be quite as hot. Of course, around here that's the peak of the hurrican season. That would sure screw things up.
I live in the Tidewater, Virginia, area and we've got the two sniper trials coming up in the fall; one in Chesapeake and the other in Virginia Beach. I guess this area will be in the spotlight for a few months. Hope everything goes smooth. Not looking forward to any trouble.
The King Ranch is doing fine. Of course when you drive a vehicle as little as I drive the KR, its hard for anything to go wrong. Its my weekend ride. Just broke the 6,000 mile barrier last night. December 17th will be two years since I bought it. Of course with my 16 year old son just getting his driver's license and my 15 year old daughter not far behind, the KR is bound to get more time on the road. Not from them mind you, from me. They'll be driving our other car and the wife and I will have the KR.
Guess that's about it around this neck of the woods. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Feeling a little like I'm neglecting the KR site since I bought my boat and joined BoatingABC.com, I haven't had too much to say about the KR. It is a very nice tow vehicle though. There I go again with the boat...
Oh well.
Poohbear:
The wives in our lives are not very popular at the moment! See my post about the cheese on the seat. I'm about to try Baby Dove soap to neutralize the stain (as Lenticular suggested), then apply a liberal amount of lexol. We'll see.

I finally rolled over the 3,000 mile mark last week on our trip to Oklahoma for a funeral, I averaged 18.9 on this trip and I'm pretty pleaded about that.
I've had the truck 9 months so at this rate I'm looking at maybe 4,000 miles on the odometer by years end.

Me, I'm just overworked and burned out. Work has been so busy lately that none of us have had the opportunity to breathe. I've been working on the same project for about 3 months now and I'm so sick of it that I can't see straight. I'm definately not productive at the moment.
Work, coupled with everyday life, coupled with buying our first home is bordering on the edge of overload. We close on Aug. 15th but, getting all of the necessary items in place, in line, and purchased is really becoming a royal PITA.
I'm anxious to be a home owner and get out of the rent trap but, at this point, I'm ready for it all to be over.

I on the otherhand wish I could say I was overworked!!! Not had a job since 4/15 and I give it two more months before the well runs dry. I have been away for the last two weeks. Took a long trip around the state of Washington and looked at homes all over. If I were to move there it would be to Spokane, Wa. Very nice, peacefull town of 350,000. Course I would have to sell the little F150 KR and get a big F-350 KR to start my own business of car transporting. Just all ideas I am going over. I actually had two calls while I was away for a couple of job interviews to happen this week. Maybe the economy is picking up again??? This whole time I was holding out to make the same amount of $ and reuse to take a cut, course being out of work for 3 and 1/2 months, I guess I did take a pay cut. I tell you, I probably should have not given that two weeks notice, but I hated the new controller of the company and she has run 6 others off. She has yet to hire another credit manager to replace me, what a hole she is digging herself into. Oh, well, that is my story and atleast I have a KR!!!!!
I'm doing fine; the family is too. We're just trying to dry out, frigging 2 months of rain and needless to say I've gotten almost nothing done on my shop construction project. I guess that should explain my diversion with the ATV and boat interest. I'll need a boat badly if it continues to rain anymore this year.

I'm doing fine here in the far north of Illinois. Just came back from another weekend camping excursion, had a good time. Am gearing up for the annual 6 hour trip to Brooklyn, MI and the big NASCAR weekend. Am leaving on Thursday AM (8/14), and will return on Monday PM (8/18). Will drag the camper for the trip. This will be a real good test for the KR. In fives months, I have 5700 miles on the truck. i can't believe how few miles some of you have. I love driving the KR and I guess that's why I put more miles on it than some. It is my daily driver also tho. Tally-ho for now, work is busy so I guess I'd better get back to it.
