Question Rattling Noise in Front End

Hey All,
I just wanted to check with my fellow King RancH owners to see if anyone else has had this problem. At low speeds, I can hear what can best be described as a "loose change" rattle coming from around left front wheel area. This rattle can be heard from a crawl to about 45 mph, and is more evident when hitting a bump .
Any Thoughts?
Thanks guys,
-Adam

Total shot in the dark here but, pop off your center caps and make sure that nothing has broken inside the cap itself. Since it occurs only while you're moving (or I'm assuiming that from your description), I'd attempt to trace it back to the wheels...

Best of luck and welcome to f150online.com.

KR979,

Welcome to our club or "clique". I'll take a stab at helping you with your problem. My best guess is that you have a loose shock absorber. I've seen it many times and it will make a rattling sound at all speeds and especially at a bump. Just grab the shock with your hand if you can access it and shake it, if it's tight then it's probably something else. Next step will be to raise the truck at the side where the noise is heard but raise it via the lower control arm so that the suspension is loaded like it's on the ground and kick or shake the wheel and look and listen. One of these suggestion should reveal something...

BTW, lets see your baby, 2WD, 4WD, color etc etc etc???

Later,
