Another question about the leather

I go to the gym several times a week. I get pretty sweaty. I noticed that when I get home, the seat of my truck, and anything I touch for that matter, gets a little wet.

Is this going to harm my leather? Would I be better off putting a seat cover on the driver side for protection from those trips to the gym or hunting in the TN outback?

Thoughts appreciated.

IMO deffinately cover that precious leather with a towl or something...it is not just the moisture from your skin, but also the bacteria that may eat at your leather.....not to mention leave it smelling like a wet dog.

Certainly not good for the leather (body oils and salts etc).

I'd recommend sitting on a great big fluffy towel. I carry two in my truck at all times for just such and occasion (I can get pretty nasty out in the field behind a drill rig logging cores or taking samples).

Thanks for the ideas. I'll see what I can come up with.

Since you have already sat on it and soaked it with swet. I would take $15 and buy some Lexol leather cleaner (orange) and conditioner (brown) this will prevent it from drying out and cracking.

Again, I'd avoid the Lexol cleaner (orange bottle). Just my two cents.

I've been using the KR conditioner. But I go to the gym several times a week, so I guess I need to take large beach towel or something. I just can't see covering up the seats on a permanent basis. They look too good.
