Loooonnngg Trip

In a couple weeks will be able to tell everyone what it was like to drive 2300 miles. Leave right after work on the 11th will be gone for just over a week. Hope to have my shirts in before I leave..hehe.I will be moving my fiancee back home from Toronto..yes that is as in Canada. Will see how the truck and I take it driving from northeastern Oklahoma to Toronto and back with a Uhaul trailer hooked up to it.

Our trip to Florida should be around 3,000 miles, but without a trailer - will let you know gas mileage, etc.

You will love the KR on a long trip KRCowboy. This is one of the few vehicles I've owned that don't beat the crap out of my old tired back.

We were up in your neck of the woods last week in Grove, Ok and we drove the Crown Vic. I loved the Crown Vic for a long trip until we got the King Ranch and this the last long trip I will make in the CV. Too bad the truck doesn't have the smooth ride of the Crown Victoria with the comfort of the KR seats.

My truck averaged 17.8 MPG on my 2300 mile trip in May and that was driving 75 mph.

Hi all arrived in Toronto Canada on Sunday afternoon. First chance I have had to login and post. Been busy packing up things. Truck ran great the whole way here and was comfortable. Had a hail storm in of all places Devil's Elbow, MO. found two small dents after that. Stayed in St.Louis the first night they should have issued me kevlar at the desk I think. Then drove on to Lansing Michigan and stayed the night there as well. Upon leaving Lansing checked the truck again the heat from the sun and engine had popped the dents out on the hood WOOT!!
We will be back on our way south again tomorrow. Stopping in Lansing again since now I will have a dog, a cat, and a fiancee riding back with me plus the u-haul.

A dog, cat, and a fiancee' in the back? Man... I wouldn't let her read this! LOL! Is there room enough for the cat? If something wouldn't fit, I'd use it's space to make sure that something else could go...LOL!

Best of luck on your return voyage. We'll talk more about your dents later...

Be careful...

KR,

Sounds like the recipe for an instant family, you sure your fiancee' doesn't have any children from a previous relationship??? Have a safe trip back and watch out for the crazies if you pass through Kentucky, hahaha.

Well, we're back. Couldn't get decent mileage check due to stupid a** drivers who wouldn't get out of left lane. Left lane hog every 50 miles or so. Had 17.5 mpg on one 300 mile segment. Complete road stoppage in Alabama for no apparent reason. Averaged 25 mph through the state.
Truck rode great though. Rides just as good at 85 as 65. Wife won't take long trips in any other vehicle after this. Only saw two other KRs entire trip - Dallas to Florida & back.
