New '03 King Ranch

I just wanted to share with everyone pictures of my dad's new '03 Supercrew King Ranch. This is one sweet truck.

Interesting that you say that... I didn't notice that... I agree too... I thought it was standard.

Maybe in a couple of years after I finish Graduate School. But of course by then, I may be looking at a 4x4 King Ranch.

The rear slider is an option. Scuse me, the POWER rear slider is an option. The manual is not offered on the KR. It's either the power slider or none at all. That is one of two options that my truck does not have. Mine was on the lot so I bought it with the options that were on it. Did not order it. Just thought I'd put my $.02 worth in.

Tell the ol' man he's got himself a nice truck Juice. he'll leran to love it.

"Scuse me!"

Clarify your viewpoint !

On my 01 the manual sliding rear window was standard...I just checked the window sticker.

Are you saying that later years it was not standard and only available as a powered (And IMHO) totally un-necessary bit of kit.

Lenny - That's what I am saying. The manual slider is an option on the XL and XLT, and the power slider is an option on the XLT and Lariat. No manual on the Lariat at all. No slider is standard. Just looked at the '03 brochure. Going by what it said.

If they had offered the power rear slider in 2001 when i bought my baby I would have opted for it. I like to open all the 4 windows and teh moonroof and can't reach the sliding window in the back from the drivers seat. One day I will haev one but have my wedding to finance right now. Think I want a power slider more ROFL!!

Shouldn't you get your priorities right !!

Power slider first, then the wedding.

Thin end of the wedge and all that !!!

I understand you correctly, you're saying that the manual slider IS NOT available on a KR and that if you want a slider you MUST get a 'totally unecessary kit' in a power slider? Correct?

If so, incorrect.

I started with a manual slider and upgraded to the 'unecessary kit' of a power slider.

I'm not sure how I've made it without the power slider. It's an option that every supercrew should have as standard equipment. There isn't a soul on the boards here that can reach the back window without being somewhat unsafe and approaching controsionism (sp).

I love my power slider and won't own another truck without it.

LOL! Actually Len, go run that option of having a slider or a marriage by your lovely wife. I'm pretty sure that she'll either slug you a good one or laugh her hiney off at you. LOL!

Like KRCOWBOY, I love kicking ALL of the windows down/open and running down the road. It's really nice to have the fresh air versus the AC. The AC has it's time and place but, it's rare I have all it on 'MAX AC'... it's typically the windows... including the power rear slider that I installed and dufunnel convinced me that I needed... it's all his fault! LOL!

Now I'm getting totally confused.

Mind you that's not difficult.

As far as the priorities bit.....only joshing of course.

Having just celebrated (Can that be the right word!?) 25 years you have to take a few roughs with the smooths.
(As Manuel from Fawlty Towers would say)

Or Flowery *****

Or Fatty Owls

Or Watery Fowls....Ok he's gone off the rails again.

See what happens when I don't know if I should have a manual rear slider or not.

(Better get my act together....will be racing the MG at Silverstone this weekend !)

RP - You're taking this wrong. For the MY '03 , there is not ANY slider that comes as standard equipment on ANY F150. On the XL and XLT models you can option from the factory a manual rear slider. On the XLT and Lariat (including the KR) you can factory option a POWER rear slider. Therefore, the XL has an option of a manual rear slider only, the XLT has an option of either a manual or power rear slider, and the Lariat (including the KR) has an option of a power rear slider only. Maybe in '01 and '02 the manual came standard on the Lariat, but not for '03. Mine has no rear slider at all. I'm with you, if I had a slider, it would have to be power because at 5'-8", there's no way in hell I'd reach the back to open it. Hell, I had a hard time with my Ranger scab reaching it. Anyway, this is what the Ford literature says, and I can vouch that I do not have any slider at all. You know they make those small changes from MY to MY, like the auto temp control I have in my '03. haha, I've got something you don't.
