My '02 also came with a manual slider and climate control. But I went to the "build it" on Fords site and when you select manual rear slider under options your spankin new KR becomes an XLT (did like the price better however).

I too wish they would've offered a power rear when I bought my truck, it always peeved me that Explorer Sport Tracs had something my "Big Ol' King" didn't!

Mike - The '02's have the climate controls, but the '01's don't. Therefore, I have something RP doesn't. That's all I worry about, that I have something RP doesn't. I love my truck, whether it has the power slider or not. Besides, that gives me more room to put the redneck NASCAR stickers on it. Lenny really like's those stickers.

Pooh- Like I said, the manual slider is not an option on the Lariats for '03. That's why it kicks you back to an XLT when you try to order it on the build it menus.

No biggie on all of this, I was just stating the facts about the rear sliders. I wish mine did have the power rear slider but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I still love my truck.

Just what does NASCAR stand for anyway ?

Oh yes...I just remembered....

"Nancys and softees careening about racetracks"

PS I don't mean it at all you know!

I respect the speeds and dangers that oval racing engenders.
A few corners wouldn't go amiss mind you !

Besides which F1 to me has lost an awful lot of its appeal these days....its more of a procession than a race.

Anyways, do you know where most of the Nascar and F1 cars are designed and built ?

Just down the road from here in the UK !

I know, I was just backing you up (not that you needed it). Either way you are right it doesn't matter as long you have something RP doesn't he! he!

Side note: I like IHRA stickers, while all other forms of racing have curves and hills and bumps and jumps there's nothing like strapping a rocket to your tail and going all out for a quarter.

I sat a few times stopped at the end of the runway waiting for a Hornet to take off and thinking (in my Lighting, not the KR) "I could just whip over there and I'd take him in the first 1/4"

I know you don't mean anything by it Lenny, just like I don't mean anything by poking at RP. Mike, besides, he already cashed my check, I balanced my checkbook the other day.

But, fyi, the Winston Cup boys are at Infineon raceway this weekend. One of their two road courses for the season. I always like to watch the road course races as in my opinion, it separates the men from the boys. You have to be able to turn both ways and be able to shift god only knows how many times during the afternoon. Being a Mark Martin fan as I am, I was amazed a couple of years ago when they had an in-car shot at his feet during the race. His right foot was strapped to the accelerator pedal and he braked and clutched with only his left. It was cool to watch it. They showed him shift for one lap and I think he must have shifted about 35-40 times during that one lap. Way cool.

RP, That would involve extra shipping wouldn't it? Man this is getting costly, and for Koolaid stained shirts at that!
Usually if I was planning a trip to Guam I wouldn't be shopping for KR polos, so if I go and I see some....

Nah... I think we'll have a little extra money (very little) but, I think it'll cover the shipping to Guam.

I'll get back to you on that...

RP....

Did you ever see John Cleese in "Fawlty Towers".
He co wrote it with his then wife Connie Booth who also starred in it ?

About a mad hotel in the West Country and an even madder hotel owner...

One of the funniest TV shows ever made....I've seen some of the episodes up to 20 times and they still make me laugh.
(Easily pleased you see!)

Every episode would start with a front shot of the hotel but with the letters on the nameboard re-arranged.
When those programs were first made in the 70's the word
T*AT didn't have the same connotation as it has now...in fact I really don't know how it came to change to that.

Anyway...if you're not asleep already here's a funny and true (Unfortunately) story.

I think you know that at one time I was a magistrate (Judge) and one of my jobs was to hand out the licences to pubs.

One pub (By coincidence in the little town where I lived) called the Kings Head had got itself a reputation for rowdy behaviour.
The new landlords of the pub were up before me in court pleading (Almost literally) to be allowed a licence.
I looked down with a very stern look from my lofty position in the court and told them that I happened to know of this pub and it's reputation and that they would only be granted a licence if they assured me that they would take a firm grip on the way the pub was run.
They agreed and so I granted the licence.

(Are you asleep yet?)

Anyway several weeks later a friend I had known for nearly 30 years came to stay.
It had snowed and we and our wives decided to walk to the Kings Head for a lunchtime drink.
On the way Martin and I were throwing snowballs at each other
(You know, the way 45 year old men do !), and unbeknown to me one had dropped into the hood of my anorak.

As I took my coat off in the pub the snowball fell out all over my head and I automatically said "You stupid **** Jones "
(Always call each other by last names...sign of affection)

The word didn't mean anything to me....but it obviously did to the barman.

He asked me to leave (Threw me out in common parlance).

The bar staffs' bosses had told them that some Magistrate had warned the pub it would lose its licence (And them their jobs ), if the rowdy reputation of the pub wasn't controlled !

Hey Ho !

hey, my 02 came with a manual slider, and although i would probably rather have a power one, i don't mind the manual one. hey rp, i can open and clost mine no problem from the drivers seat, just gotta recline the seat back a lil bit and slide it open with my right arm, not that difficult, and can easily be done at a stop light, or while going 80 on I-95 (Shhhh...).

Nice truck juice, looks like your dad got the best color

I like those new lights on the 03, much better than previous version. But I think I would rather have the L heads and corners. RP has pushed me to get the Xenarcs, but i really don't have $500 to throw on the table for headlights!! Plus, I'm getting fairly new L heads and corners for half that price!

Well guys, I'm off to vacation, my first trip to Europe (Italy)!!! It's gonna be so awesome!! I can't wait!! We are leaving today around noon, so i've gotta make sure everything's together before we go. I'll try to see if I can find an internet cafe or something while over there to check in. Talk to ya'll in a couple weeks! LATER!

Joe

Good story Lenny. Not asleep... actually "sleepless in Seattle" at the moment.

Went to bed at 2am local, woke up at 630 and I'm wired. I have a strong feeling I'm going to 'konk out' on the 757.
