Is package worth the cost?
I am considering an 03 King Ranch as one of the choices for my next truck.
Do you "Ranchers" feel the package is worth the extra cost or would I be better off with the standard leather of the Lariat?
Are there any other pros and cons I should consider with this selection?
Thanks for any empirical insights you can give me.

Empirical insights eh ?!
I don 't know how many of those you will get here but what you will undoubtedly get is a lot of people saying the same thing.
GET THE KING RANCH .... YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
The upside is the sheer quality of that leather interior and in fact the whole package.
The downside is joining in with a band of total lunatics on this forum !

I think just about everyone here will agree that they made the right choice by going with the KR. Very few comments have ever been made within the walls of this forum regarding dislikes about the truck. I mean, let's face it, it's a classic F-150 with an interior that rivals that of many ultra first-class vehicles from all corners of the world.
The cons. Very few but, one that everyone here will agree with. The leather is work. Don't plan on getting it if you don't plan on rubbing it down with conditioner, and keeping the leather clean. It's not for someone that doesn't want to take care of it because the interior definately requires more attention than that of a standard Lariat with clear coated leather.
It's worth the extra bucks if you're willing and able to take care of the interior. I have zero regrets.
Let us know of your decision. There are definately some great rates to be had out there!

With the exception of the interior, two-tone paint, badges, trim, and running boards/bars (aka: trim). It's just the same as your 'run of the mill' SCREW.
It's the Castano leather that makes all the difference.

PS to last reply........
Serious offer..... a bottle of KR leather conditioner to the first person who can tell me.....
Which TV series did that quote come from....and which cast member often said....
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it !!!!!
Clue.... Kansas
Further clues through the week until anyone gets it.
(If anyone is interested that is !)

No - You absolutely would not, repeat would not, be better off with the standard leather of the Lariat! After all, it wouldn't be a King Ranch - would it? But in my humble opinion, it's the whole package that makes the King Ranch what it is. It's the combination of the colors, the wheels, the running boards, and the badges. Of course the leather is a big part of that package but none the less, it's still the whole package.
If you buy the King Ranch, you won't be disappointed. On the other hand, if you buy the Lariat, you might be kicking yourself later on because you wish you'd bought the King Ranch.
Still, it's a personal choice. Good luck with yours.

Get the King rancH! I have Lariat drivers doing a double take whenever I pull up next to them.
When they ask me about the truck I tell them it is a good thing that Ford makes the Lariat because it gives our King rancH a base model to go off of.
Seriously, as long as it is a FORD you are "Good To Go"

things will change in your life after buying a King Ranch
1)conditioner.......the first thought that comes to mind will no longer be hair conditioner.....it is leather conditioner and which is the best.
2)When you turn someone down for a date and you say you are washing the truck this weekend...it is the honest truth.
3)the thought of spending $85 for a pen cup for your desk at work suddenly doesn't seem that crazy.
4)You begin vacationing to places like Kingsville Texas, Louisville Kentucky..etc, etc.
5)and you may as well just clear your schedule for the next couple months after brining your baby home from the dealership...call it maternity/paternity leave.
6)your hair dryer, nail polish remover, alcohol(not the kind ya drink silly), cotton *****, q-tips, chapstick are used exclusively for truck mods
