towing with my KR
I'm purchasing a travel trailer (5400 lbs dry weight) this spring and am wondering if my KR will pull it. I am told to add 1000 pounds for supplies (6400lbs) and 400 for my topper (6800).
I will be traveling primarily in Michigan (mostly flat with some large rolling hills). Am I expecting too much out of my KR or should I look for a lighter trailer?
2001 KR 5.4 L, 3.55 rear, max. trailer rating 7200 lbs.

I am assuming you have a 4x4 because ya live in MI too right.....can't answer your question 100%, but it sounds right.....I will have a friend read this post and answer it for you.......just as soon as he wakes up! He tows a boat with his around the great state of MI so he will best answer your question.
i'd look at how ford calculates the max towing weight. basically do they do it with a fully loaded truck, ie 4 people x 200 lbs plus fuel (whatever that weighs) then the trailer and supplies or do they assume the people and fuel to be part of the towing weight. if the latter you are going to be right on the edge and might look for a lighter trailer, if the previous then you'll be fine.
You have a great tow vehicle. I am getting ready to tow my bass boat down to Lake Gaston tomorrow morning. With all my bass tackle in the boat, I figure I am towing around 6000 pounds and I hardly feel the boat behind me.
