Headlights on 2003 King Ranch

I'm looking to replace my headlights. I was searching through other boards and came across a post that mentioned that the headlights are clear and come with a grey stripe on the bottom. Can someone please post pics. Also, where can I get these without going to the dealer?

For 03, the King Ranch and the F-150 Heritage editions have the clear headlamps. No grey strip though. Check through my gallery for pics when new, as I put some pro beam covers on later.

I think I've heard them referred to as 'Diamond Clear' headlights from the guys that have found them as an aftermarket item (not OEM).

Just thinking out loud here but, I'd say they're somewhat expensive to replace with the Ford part (Visteon) but, there are numerous folks that have dropped in aftermarket assemblies.

I recommend contacting the folks at www.fordpartsnetwork.com and getting a quote on the assemblies and then search around on places like ebay and in the classifieds to see if you could come up with a set and check that price. I believe you'll find that the Visteon assemblies will be several hundred dollars whereas the AM assemblies will run around $100.

If you're going to replace the assemblies with the Visteon lights and they're going to run around $400, I highly recommend that you look into Sylvania Xenarcs. They are a High Intensity Discharge (HID) system just like you've seen on the high dollar BMW's and Mercedes (you know what I'm talking about... the SUPER bright white ones). I have a set, I love mine. They're incredible.

That's what the Xenarcs, asthetically, look like along with the Lightning corner lights.

Feel free to ask questions as both Dufunnel and I have the Xenarcs and might be able to help.

I just got my auxiliary driving lights in today, replacing the stock fog lights. Wow! The Xenarcs have once again amazed me. The HID fog lights are even brighter white than the Xenarc headlights. Building the custom brackets for them was a major PITA though, and wiring them to the stock fog light switch also was a chore. It is done now though, and will post pictures when I get around to taking some. It took me all day to do, so by the time I was done it was already dark out.

Very nice driving with the HIDs all around though.
