Post KR keypad problem?

Hey I kinda came up on a problem with the 2003 KR keypad on the driverside door? When i first got the truck the keypad was working fine, i typed the 5 digit code and it oped the door. Yesturday i tried it and it doesnt work? I been using the pressure washer alot because of the snow/salt we get in canada, can it be that water got into the keypad? another strange thing is that when I press a number the lights on the keypad and inside the truck turn on, so does that mean the connection is fine? Maybe the keypad has just been disabled? is there a way to enable it once again? Thx for the replies.

Definately sounds like a warranty issue to me... Take it to the dealership...

I Live in Alberta, Canada and I had a problem with the water or melted snow freezing in the buttons and it was rendered useless. One cold night I got pissed off and ran the local arena and asked the staff for the plumbing torch as the truck was warming up I thought it would melt the ice and it didn' t so after numerous warrenty attempts they got it back with melted buttons and blistered paint. They were warned and know I have a temper at the dealership and do drastic things sometimes. They warrentyed it .

I live in Ottawa.
My problems with the keypad were before the cold hit and no pressure washing.
The keypad was not working at all. It was replaced under warranttee (given a new access # and everything). Then it quit again, but still lit up the interior lights. Turns out from my experimenation that the 5-key was not working. They fixed this and it has been working great for several months now.

Pat,

Did I read that right??? You used a plumbers torch to melt ice off of the keyless entry system on your truck?? Why would you do that???
