King Ranch mods

Friday night I cranked my torsion bars to level my '03 KR (Thank you so much Daveman!) and downloaded the standard performance program from my new Performance Products Micro Tuner. Wow!

I've put about 400 miles on the truck since using the Micro Tuner and the results are very impressive. Engine and shift performance are dramatically improved and I'm getting about 1.5mpg improvement in fuel efficiency. (My wife said: "What do you do to this thing?..." on the way to dinner last night. She noticed the improved performance immediately and she's no gearhead!)

If you want the easiest performance mod available for your 5.4, contact Mike Troyer immediately. His service and attention to customer satisfaction are without comparison. The install is a no brainer and I really think that being able to return to the stock program in a few minutes is a real plus. Thanks, Mike!

Anway, gotta go drive my new beast!

Let me know exactly what you did to the performance and what it cost and where to get it. Very interested! Email me at damoncaravanman@hotmail.com

I'm going to post my e-mail to damoncaravan from yesterday, but Skagel, I would encourage you to do a search in the computer chips section of this forum. After you have read up a bit, contact Mike Troyer. He'll hook you up with a Micro Tuner. The install is no more complicated than removing a fuse, plugging the Micro Tuner into the computer port on your truck and following the simple screen instructions. 15 minutes later you have a much improved truck!
My e-mail follows:

Howdy,
To answer your question:

I just can't recommend the Superchips Micro Tuner enough. The thing is a piece of cake to use and was $325 plus shipping. The Micro Tuner performance program (as opposed to a custom setup you can set yourself) takes off the speed limiter, ups the RPMs and firms the shift points and helps gas mileage and you can return to the stock program any time in about 10 minutes!.
My previous truck was an 01 Lightning, which I replaced with an 03 KR. Needless to say, the KR will never measure up to the L performance, but the Micro Tuner really wakes up the 5.4. Performance Products claims that the hp increase is between 20 and 28, with a pretty solid torque increase , but it seems like more by the seat of my pants. I'm in love with my KR all over again.
Keep in mind that you have to burn 91 or better octane when you do the tune, but with better gas mileage (at about 500 miles of use so far) the cost looks pretty near a wash to me.
Contact Mike Troyer at Performance products and he'll hook you up. He's a supporting vendor for F-150Online and really great to deal with.
You won't be sorry. This mod rocks!.
Drop me an e-mail if you have any other questions. howardjw@earthlink.net

Yes, I can attest to the microtuner. I replaced my superchip with the microtuner and I like a lot better. I don't have to get the thing reburned when I put my other wheels or replace my gears (which I will be doing soon). The performance gain is equivalent to my superchip, and it's easier to do.

Keep in mind that the microtuners do NOT work on the 03 models yet, so I think that damon will find out he can't use it until superchips upgrades the microtuner.

I received my Micro Tuner for my '03 KR week before last and it works like a charm. Traded a couple of e-mails with Mike Troyer beforehand so I'm pretty certain the upgrade has happened.

Ok, well the Superchips website still claims they don't work on the 03's yet. But if there is information otherwise, then have at it.
