Painted Calipers?

I'm thinking about painting my calipers but I'm not sure how much 'look' I'm going to get for the work...

I found this pic over in the HD forum and got to thinking about it...

What do you all think?

Arizona Beige? What color should I go with. Is it worth my time? Would they really be 'seen'? Will I be able to find a 'high temp' arizona beige paint?

I'm in the brainstorming stage of the mod thus, any and all insight would be appreciated.

If you are doing it with the standard KR wheels, then I wouldn't waste your time. I have the same wheels (diff center cap) and you can hardly see the caliper as it is, I doubt a colored one would get noticed unless you happened to park or stop with one of those small wheel openings over top of it. Even then, I doubt its really worth the time.

And, as you said, "Arizona Beige" would be pretty hard to find in a high heat variety.

Yeah, that was my thought as well...

I guess I'm looking for a few cheap and easy mods that can keep me busy this week... *shrugs*...

I do need to pull my wheels off and clean the insides of them... they look like A$$.

you could acetone the black stuff off your badges like I did. only cost $2 for the acetone and can be picked up at any beauty supply place. (ask your wife for the directions of the closest one she will know.)

Not sure I want to acetone the badges... thought about it.... just think I like them painted a little better....different strokes/folks...

I don't know... should I mess with the calipers? Any other opinions....

you could install a tailgate lock that uses your existing keyfob to unlock the tailgate. I got one for my birthday and finally got it installed yesterday.........if ya buy one ignore the instructions because they are wrong.

My painted calipers are a major PITA to keep clean. Even with my new 23 inch wheels I put on this week, they are hard to get to. The brake dust doesn't just rinse off either. You actually have to run a sponge over it to clean it off. I agree that with the KR wheels you will not see it. I painted mine Ford blue and they are not too noticeable. When I get my new pictures scanned in I will post them up here.
